So i just purchased Evoscan last night. I have been using mitsulogger for a while now and after seeing the SS of evoscan i bought it immediately. I have had no problems with the cable i am using (works fine with ECUFlash & Mitsulogger) or the laptop. The laptop is new and powerful running win XP Pro. My .net Framework is up to date. When i run Evoscan it recognizes the cable and connects to my car. The data flow speed indicates that the car is connected and the program says link engaged. BUT none of the fields are displaying any data (i have most selected via the checkboxes). In the window that shows you which fields you want to log the reading column is blank. When i check the log file all fields are blank and the display gauge show no readings... but evoscan seems to think its connected. Another problem symptom i am having is that EVERYTHING causes the program to crash and give an error. Am i missing some simple configurational setting or should the program just be plug and play. Please help thnx

 

there is a feauture to turning off that data shown on the screen. Cant remember were exactly but look around for it.
also your crashing because you got stuff your trying to log which you cant.
just try logging RPM, load calculated, TP,speed,coolant temp,temp,
and see if it still crashes. if so then there is some problem, if not then log 1 extra thing 1 at a time until you crash. then you know that one is one you cant log.

 

i know which setting your talking about.... its log to screen. i played with that and it makes it crash with just TPS selected. Btw i heard that it crashes when logging stuff not attached so i tried it with TPS selected only and nothing... nothing in the log file or displayed on the screen and i have both options selected... i am lost. Also i tried it out on 4 different evos one of which had never been tuned or tampered with dead stock still nothing

 

what windows do you have. have you tried to open up the excel file of the log.
go to windows explorer, C: drive- program fiels- evoscan-saved data logs.
then click "show compatible files"
you should then beable to see you excel format logs. if nothing I say uninstall it and reinstall it if you have not tried that.

 

Yep tried that too im running windows XP when i open the log files they are blank
i tried uninstall reinstall and repair... still nothing

 

ha same thing happening to me.
just bought it online, and datalogging works with mitsulogger and ecuflash is fine. however evoscan does not log.
csv files have date and time stamps but that's it ( and columns too)

 

Sounds like the same issue... im getting the feeling that someone deployed a new build of the same version on accident that is f-ed up. It happens at my job all the time i sent them an email to let them know and try to get some help

 

Hamish sent me the older version of evoscan and it magically works... i think 2.1 has some issues.

 

my v2.1 is doing the same while previous versions work fine.

I am using the tactrix.com cable (old 1.3M) instead of the evoscan cable. could this be the problem? maybe it only works on the new 1.3 universal cables.

 

Ya same problems happening to me, you guys got the old version or know where i can get it?
