Zeus et al.

I like your point about qualifying statements. You do see a lot of posts that would seem as if they're stating objective proven facts, when that may not be the posters intention.

Anyway, in my N/A Integra GSR (JDM ITR pistons, Toda B specs, etc.), I had an ACT clutch and a sweet Spoon lightened chromoly flywheel. It was about 8 lbs or so IIRC, and I was hesitant to get it because of other people stating that it made the car difficult to launch, difficult to rev-match, etc. etc. I decided to say what the hell and I am glad I did, because I loved that setup, along with a JDM ITR FD (4.75:1), KAZZ LSD. I never really noticed any driveability problems, and if anything, after one drive it was second nature and the car felt awesome...

I had replaced the clutch in my GSR with an Exedy and had the stock flywheel machined, but that setup never worked right. I think it was due to a poor install and/or bad machining of the stock flywheel, so I'm a little wary of trying to use the stock flywheel again unless the shop that is going to machine the flywheel and install the clutch are very good.

Take care,

This was the main reason that I purchased the lightened flywheel. I had several people warn me against remachining the stock flywheel. So my choice was a) buy another stock one or b) pay a little more and get the Fidanza. When I saw the discount that RRE offered when you purchased the flywheel and clutch together and knowing that RRE position on not offering products unless they have proven they work and are of high quality I just decided to go with it. Happy I did.

I have never had any concerns with the remachining of the stock flywheel in my experience. The material that is removed is minimal (the galze needs to be broken) , the stock clutch will never actually score the flywheel since there are wear-stops built into the stock pressure plate to prevent any damage to the flywheel. I personally have never seen such a light flywheel for a stock vehicle before. I also beleive that there is no drivability concerns with a lighter set-up either, it drives like stock, and in fact I have yet to feel an actual difference with one that I have installed, other than the "I just spent $$$ and need to validate my investment" effect. Maybe some actually do feel a difference I guess.

Engagement point with ACT clutch

Is the engagement point really that much higher? Can it be adjusted as low as or lower than stock?

I currently hate the high engagement point of the stock clutch (I have long legs, and it gets a little old trying to shift bow-legged) and could not imagine anything higher.

you could get 2 act street clutch disc for the price twin disc.

love my act, bit rougher, but that's how it should be...

i do miss the softer stock clutch, but not that much.
