The piping is stainless. It was done by Slick motorsports. I could've got mandrel bends but this was just too cool. Costs a pretty penny though.

I don't think I'll ever hit a puddle that big here in socal, but I'll keep that in mind.

*lol* the rain thing wasn't meant to be a dig of any kind. but I have driven through rain that would have turned that intake setup into a straw. One day I'll move back to SoCal and not worry...

In response to me elaborating

The rain part is your own risk, if it was me I wouldn't do it, but perhaps theres a very minute chance of getting water and your willing to take that risk.

As for the wastegate, it's on one of the runners which is completely wrong. Take a look at the AMS setup for the correct placement to have the boost properly controlled.

Not taken as a dig, don't worry. I actually appreciate EVERYONE's input. It is the only way for us to really learn.

Let me ask you this. What if the filter sat higher up in the fender rather than comming down so far? The intake itself does not come down that far. It is just a very big air filter. I could get a smaller one that you would not even see through the hole. Or are you saying it's better to keep the filter in the engine bay? I am not a die hard cold air intake guy by any means. I actually don't think it makes much of a difference on turbo cars because the compressor gets so damn hot.

What do you think?

Ah yes! I knew you'd say that. You are totally correct too. Ryan at RnR didn't necessarily want it like this, and it doesn't have to be in that position if you don't want. We wanted to run it off the collector, which is optimal. The problem is that the kit was designed for a road race car that needed to run a 3 inch thick radiator core. HUGE core. Thats why. The only spot that we had on the collector was the forward position, but this would not allow us the use of the gigantic radiator. We sacrificed there, but have had zero problems controlling boost, so it does work, but you are right, it's not the ideal location.

They can do it on the collector for anyone that wants it BTW.

but has anyone seen a dyno with the rnr cold air intake? I would like to see one because it seems like it would help a lot.

Darwin, glad you like all the work. This is special manifold set up we made for some customers. They are some big time road racers over here that knew exactly what they wanted. We put a kit together that would meet all their needs. The Cold Air Intakes are sweet. In So Cal we have never had a problem with them at all. They work well and suck in a lot of cold air.

Also the manifolds have a lifetime warranty against cracking which was a huge selling point for guys who have cracked other cast manifolds. They also cracked a competitors tubular manifold as well.

Overall we are really happy with this new set up. We have 3 different manifolds for customers to choose from. All of them come with a lifetime warranty.

Ok, that makes sense.

Just out of curiosity, what radiator are they going to run?
