Yep.. Good news! Now that the weather has gotten warmer and I've gone through the full weather spectrum, I have it calibrated that the sensor drives just like stock. I haven't had any issues at all with it other than occasional calibration glitches.. Basically until Pro-Flow gets their calibration for the Evo down (It is INDEED different than the curve for the Eclipse) you will have to use these components..

Blowthrough MAF sensor (either their tube kit, or have it integrated into an intercooler pipe)
MAF Calibrator (Allows you to set the base voltage, and high flow voltage of the MAF)
Karmann Converter Box.. With the three adjustments you get, its more than adequate to perfect the curve.

I have had ZERO problems with it since I've installed it, and ZERO drivability problems since I had the time to go through and calibrate the MAF curve to more closely match stock.

Ahh, bad news.. http://granatellimotorsports.com/prom/ Just found a press release about Best products (Pro-Flow.com)

Apparently March 2005 they closed their doors for business..

There is another product out there for a blowthrough MAF, at least the electronic components, www.splitsec.com

I will attempt to see if I can contact anyone from granatelli or pro-flow about the Karmann converter technology to see if maybe I can get access to their engineering and calibration information.

Well, I'm going to attempt to aquire as much information as I can about it, since they apparently already shut their doors it may not be possible to get access to the technology.

I'm also not sure if Granatelli will offer "Courtesy support" for anything other than the ford and chevy specific components but I will contact them and see if there is anything worthwhile in that direction.

Like I said, www.splitsec.com also sells similar electronics for this conversion. I'm certainly no electronics engineer, nor do I have the free time to be able to create something from scratch. But I do see this being a real shame, and if their pricing were a little more competative, the product could have really been a desirable alternative.

Don't write it off yet.. I'm sure it'll work itself out.

So, in theory, you should be able to use this setup with the Xede just fine...right?

Yep, it should work with anything that doesnt eliminate the MAF sensor. The hardest part of the whole thing is getting the blowthrough setup to read the same as stock, out of the box it was calibrated for the 2G eclipse and 3KGT, its just Different for the Evo, but it can be adjusted, or you can tune around it.

Its just too bad ProFlow is defunct.. I am trying to find a way to aquire the converter technology.

I've been pretty busy lately, but I finally had some time to do a little tuning on my car and decided to graph the parameters before and after the blowthrough sensor.. I found the new curve to be VERY VERY VERY Smooth compared to the stock MAF, but it also means that I have a transitional knock as boost builds because its now in a lower load site, but it ramps very linearly..

See attached pix..

Keep in mind I haven't spent alot of time with the AFR's (their fairly lean, but not dangerous with relation to the timing I'm running at the moment) I just wanted to illustrate the difference (whether it be good or bad, you be the judge)

Look at the DARK BLUE (MAF hz, not MAF M hz) line.. the mod maf setting is to keep the ECU somewhat in Sync and has no relevence to open loop fueling on a UTEC.

This is the first time I've been able to get two similar enough runs to be able to compare the two types of MAF...

Well, I've been running the same setup for quite some time, not alot to post about since I'm waiting to see who will take up the void left by pro-flow's demise..

The item from ultimate racing is no longer in production.. And the funny part is that photo is a picture of my actual prototype unit that I purchased from them, I still have the prototype sitting on a table in my shop. The reason I know its the same one is the air temp sensor is in the blowthrough tube.. all the newer ones did not have them in the tube unless they were to be used as a drawthrough setup.

If your interested in a setup similar to that, you have the choices of using a GM sensor and a ECU+. MaftPro, Splitsecond Engineering.. Or if you want to use a Ford sensor (my preferred sensor) you can contact Antilag_200 or PMAS, I have been told their working on a new control box that is programmable where my prototype converter box was an analog electronic device that had adjustment Pots.
