This larger 10.5cm^2 Turbine housing. Fits all EVO4-EVO8 cars and offers a larger, less restrictive turbine housing made in A3N material that is less affected than the standard F5 material by anti-lag systems and elevated EGT’s.
The factory EVO8 turbine housing is a 9.8cm^2 nozzle size.

These upgrade housings are in stock and ready to ship as of June 15th 2004.

Yah, I got my housing from Forced Performance.. You can also track them down through EBAY and Vishnu should be able to get them too..

there are definitely tangeble gains to be had, how much directly depends on your other mods on the car.

This might help you some: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=93693

I have the 10.5 hotside on my car and with what little tuning I have, I am putting down roughly 20whp more than some Stage 1+ EVOs.

I am getting retuned on Saturday, so we'll see what kind of gains I get then.

You won't see a huge improvement in peak hp, but the biggest improvement is all the torque and midrange power you'll see.

Newbie question... but would the increase still be possible without any other mods and no retuning of the ECU? I wonder if this housing will mate with the larger nozzles on the 05's? Or are they the same thing and I'm just confused?

quote from the stats on the new 05's:
"276 hp Output Engine / 286 ft-lbs Torque ALL MODELS
(STD)
+5 hp increase / +13 ft-lbs increase, larger turbo diameter nozzle (9.8 -> 10.5) and new wastegate shape (oval -> circle) provides improved turbo boost response. "

The Nozzle is part of the turbine housing, therefore its more or less the same.. Since mitusbishi redesigned the wastegate flapper we're not certain if the O2 housing from the stock (early) turbos will mate up.. Whereas the earlier 10.5 housing is a bolt-on swap.

You will certainly see gains with only this mod.. However usually its one of those mods done in conjuction with other mods and tuning, where gains would be greatest.
