272 jun cams on stock turbo/ecu?

can you set the cam gears with jun 272 cams to idle right with the stock turbo/ecu(no stand alone)?something like -4,-1 like the HKS 272s in silver sufers thread.also want kind of injectors should i run with my set-up?i was thinking 720cc.

mods i have already:3'turboback,hks rs intake,hallman mbc,255lp fuel pump,dynoflash,ams fmic.

planing on a bigger turbo upgrade, and stand alone later down the road.

everyone post up please thanks y'all

you are aware that you will need to upgrade the valvetrain as well, since Jun 272's have a good amount of lift.
im sure you can even tune them with the SAFC but for the most out of the cams tuning always helps.

Well, aside from what was already said with the previous post, its certainly possible with a reflash..

If you want to get good idle, you need to reduce cam overlap as much as possible.. everything else can be adjusted on the Idle Air Control Solenoid (base idle speed) and the ECU tune with a reflash..

Closed loop will eventually learn the patterns and as long as the idle speed and vacuum are adequate, you should get decent idle. The Reflash should also be able to set your base trims so if you reset the ECU in the future, it won't have to work as hard to relearn the closed loop fuel trims(and the car will run better)

Do you think your motor can safely rev high enough to take advantage of those and is the sacrifice in torque worth it? Turbo size isn't the only factor here. I think a lot of people forget that there are actually engines under our hoods and the fact that the turbo and cams modify the engine and not the other way around!

I am just saying consider your carefully laid out goals that you have. Do you want cams that shine in very high RPMs and make a nice PEAK HP number in an area your motor will rarely see or do you want cams that make good power across the RPM band in an area that your motor is always in? What are you trying to acheive?

trying to get at least an 11 sec evo.i like to drive at the track once a month.i want about 400 to the wheels.maybe i should be looking at 264 jun cams set up?i want good power all around.i was just thinking when i get a turbo upgrade, and stand alone(in about 6 months time),that the 272 would already be there, and don't have to worry about replacing them.

Well, it's really a moot point then because you can make an 11 second EVO without cams at all when you go standalone and especially aftermarket turbo. The main thing to look at with the cams is where you want your powerband. All I am saying is that all your other mods should compliment each other and the cams are a part of that. IMO, big turbos are peaky already and, while big cams will help them hit a big peak number, the setup would be annoying with all the lack of low and mid range power coupled with the lag. In a turbo car, I would personally like something that hits peak torque early and holds it all the way through max revs. If I get an aftermarket turbo ever, it will be like one step up from stock, maybe even the TME. Then I'll go with 264's. Damn I have to get out of this thread because I am making myself want to order this stuff now even though I shouldn't!
