Strange Exhaust smell after upgrade...

I just went to a custom made 3" turboback with a Random Technology high flow cat and a Magnaflow resonator...I now notice a rotten egg smell coming from my car. I drove it for 30 miles after the turboback install...shut off my car...and there was a huge rotten egg smell. I could really smell it when I open my trunk. Any idea??

its the smell of your high flow cat not being able to reduce and oxidize your combustion gases. You should either get use to it or put back your stock Cat.

Well I guess the good thing is that I didnt throw a CEL I am assuming a 3" high flow cat has better performance than the stock?

Will that smell always be there or will it die down any?

I just changed my exhaust and intake setup. I went from the Buschut 2.5"DP/2.5" Muffler Delete/AEM Intake to a 3" custom made Turboback with a Random Technology High Flow cat, Magnaflow Resonator/Injen Intake....would it be advisible to get another flash?

Also...The RT high flow cat goes directly into the Magnaflow resonator. Is that resonator real restrictive? Am I defeating the purpose of a 3" turboback with it on. It does sound real nice though...So quiet, the guy who fabbed mu exhaust didn't even have to put a muffler on, just a straight pipe

the smell will always be there if the air vents are getting the air from outside. they don't really get better other wise, you just get used to it. this happens in all cars when you remove the cats. suck it up its only the price you have to pay for power. by the way i hope you got your car retuned cause if you didn't put the cat back in you won't ntice the differece in power with it on or off unless you tune

funny you mention that...I just posted that question above. Thats probably why I dont not see that much of a gain when we dynoed my car after the new exhaust system with the high flow cat. I guess it will need reflashed

try getting a car freshener. the smell will eventually go away otherwise i'd recommend instlaling back your old exhaust if the smell still lingers.

power? smell? I 'd go with power. You might stink up the place but at least everyone else is behind you.
