Got Walbro Pump...Do i need a Fuel Pressure Regulator?

I bought the 255 Fuel Pump.. will i need a fuel pressure regulator or will my flash adjust enough to handle this with the stock one. I will get a turbo kit in the future.. should i just upgrade it then?

thanks

I put mine in my car when it was tunned. I have an exede. Until you have your ecu tunned then you don't need it iinstalled.

I would just get it when you do the turbo. Stock is actually pretty good i have had no problems when i hit the 500whp mark but now that im looking at 650whp im starting to see some problems.

You shouldn't need anything but the factory FPR, although there is no real reason to install the 255lph pump until you are ready to install the turbo kit and calibrate the entire package.

Very informative Fuel Pump Sticky from VISHNU. When you are no longer stock you should get the fuel pump especially with more agressive tunning.

I asked the same question a few days ago, and the concensus seems to be that the car will run fine with the pump and no tune. That being said, I guess it will runa little richer and so you should get it tuned. So like in my case, I'm going to install it right before I leave to go get my EMS installed.

I run a walbro, xede, turbo back, and gears. I didn't mess with the baseline map. Only seeing 11 A:F by redline, so I'm not any richer than before. Dunno why some people are claiming it makes it too rich.

It shouldnt make anything richer at all. The fuel flow is controller by the fuel pressure regulator so it really doesnt matter what the fuel pump is pushing out.

I had a noticible change when I installed mine before the tune. The car idled very rough and high and just did not feel smooth. Once tuned, it felt nice and idled normally.

The Walbro will make you run rich when in boost if you are not tuned for it. It felt like it lost power up top before the tune.

It is under the back seat and is not too difficult to do.

I think you may be confusing the pump with injectors, with regard to running rich.
