I have seen the Megan Racing O2 housing on Ebay and owning a few other Megan parts with good experiences I was wondering if anyone has tried this out?

i looks really nice..just as good as helix i say....very thick flanges, and nice welds...i dont see y its not as good...plus looks like its alot cheaper...

 

I have the Megan Racing Downpipe and short shifter. They have performed beyond expectation and I would recommend these two products to anyone. However, I would probably not get their springs simply because they are a much more involved piece of equipment.

I am going to purchase the Megan O2 housing sometime soon. Their downpipe has helped me acheive over 300 AWHP while spending less than 1K dollars in mods on power (975) so far.

 

Yeah I trust my mom more than yours. I wasn't asking which O2 housing to buy, rather if people had good experience with the Megan Racing piece.

 

I do have the megan springs, I do not know if I quite like them yet. They seem to tighten the car up a bit, but drivability and bumps seem much much more pronounced and even after them having for more than a month I can still hear the springs hitting each other sometimes. This is my first set of lowering springs I have ever purchased, so I am unsure if these things are normal. The front could handle to be lowered about another 1/2 inch and it would look better. On their website it says 1.75" F/1.75" R, I would say about 1" F/2.0" rear. I have talked to megan about the springs and they said they would be willing to give me a brand newt set if I suspected anything whatsover was wrong with them.

Thats all fine and dandy....but I'm too lazy to take the things back off, put the stock ones back on, and then put their replacements back on the car.

 

let me put it this way.i think megan=crap.i didn't want to say like that 'cause of all these hippies out here who love there megan junk.i was just saying you should look into another company's o2 housing.helix is great & has a great price.i'm all about the "you get what you pay for" theory.my friend evilevovegas has a megan ss,and it seems to be working great for him.as for myself,i will never sport any megan product.a new o2 housings won't add much to the car anyways.save you cash.

 

well I wasn't going to buy it anytime soon anyways...I mean why else do you have to bag this company....is it because it is a girl's name?

I know there could always be a better product...but when it comes down to exhaust it is hard to improve one 3" system vs another 3" system. Especially when the EVO piping is so dtraight to begin with, any differences could be car/dyno/fuel/air temp/ a million variables of diffference!

I just want to see what people have against this company, if it is their cheesy shop card with an accord front bumper cover then that is one thing, but give me a break!

 

i have a megan racing o2 housing and dp. the o2 housing holes that hold it to the turbo had to be drilled out a little bit. drilling through hardened steel is not that easy. the downpipe worked well. had to figure out which bolts i needed to used in the kit they sent me. i love both parts and got them for a cheap cheap price. think about it, witha dp, you are paying for a piece of bent pipe. a 3" mandrel bent pipe is a 3" mandrel bent pipe.

 

The Megan O2 looks OK from the pics on the site... but that doesn't show fit. Also, is the wastegate dump divorced from the turbine flow? If so, how far down before it joins the main exhaust flow?

 

I have the M.R. turbo outlet and it is great. Fit perfect with no mods and added a noticeable increase in spool ups and bit more up top. The welding and construction of the outlet is top notch. I got it for $100 off EBay from built4race. I have seen the Helix outlet for around $250 at my local shop and there the EXACT same part except for the $150 price gauge! You do get what you pay for and when you buy M.R., you are getting a HIGH quality part at a reasonable price backed by a manufactures warranty against defects (so if there is anything wrong with it they will replace/refund you no problem) unlike most competitors who have big name prices and equal quality. For $100 the outlet was well worth the investment and performance gains. The outlet by itself might not do a lot of good but if you already have a 3" system from the outlet back it will make some nice and noticeable improvements.

Now to rant I love how people make comments about company’s products and don’t have a clue about them. Do you work for Helix or something? Megan = carp and why, because you say so? Any proof to offer us at all other then the comment that your friend had a good experience? I didn’t think so or you would have added it to your post. Well if that’s all I need (nothing) to make up a fact then your comments are crap. See that doesn’t work out very well does it? I have been to M.R.(yeah in person), spoken with there employees and seen there pretty building (facility) in Industry, CA. They use the same materials, tools and techniques as there competitors (Helix included) only offer the parts at a more reasonable price. If that’s not getting what you $$ for and makes something crap then I guess your right…..BTW I also have M.R. lowering springs, DP, and cat back and haven’t had any problems or complaints with any of them. Hey Ninja could you take some measurements of your drop using the springs, assuming your still using stock sized tires and wheels this should be a good comparison to see if the drop i got is accurate. Measure in the center of the wheel to the top of the fender and 1/4 panel. Thanks in advance. I just want to see if my springs are in spec. Also post a picture of your car to see if the look is comparable to mine.

Sport Compact Car wrote a while back that the EVO housing was very good, and did not to be upgraded, so I was going to let it be, although at this price why the hell not replace it!

 

I have the megan racing short shifter and it works just as good and feels the same as the $150 dollar ss. Megan Racing just doesnt have the established name as helix or Hks does. Thats why they are cheaper. Every company starts somewhere. When i first got my car i was going to purchase the full turbo back exhaust from them but decided to go with Buschur Racing. Evo81 likes companys that have a reliable record as a established company as do some people. Others dont care and are willing to take the chance. I would of. I personally wouldnt touch the 02 housing becasue if you are going to upgrade your turbo most of the kits come with a new 02 housing so 2 would be usless. Just my .02 cents.

 

Sure I will but my car is in the body shop right now. As soon as I get it back I will let you know.

I think HKS is "crap"... not "crap" in quality, not "crap" in design, but "crap" in over priced JDM BULLSHlT! Here is one place you absolutely do not get what you pay for... If you did, you'd receive two 21 year old "JDM" lesbian ****** along with every purchase... but hey, that is just another "fact" based on "opinion".
