Maybe they are planning on moving the evo up market, just like subaru is with impreza. the impreza is being moved up market to make room for a new 2.0 liter turbo three door hatch.

Only thing I've heard about a v6 is that the Lancer could possibly get one. What most people don't realize is, Lancer does not mean EVO. I doubt there will ever be a v6 EVO.

Though I did speak a bit too soon, I hadn't realized DC bought back shares of Mitsu.

WildRice: My uncle gets 29.5 mpg (I don't get 20 in my evo) in his C5, he drives to business trips quite often in his corvette. I love corvettes, alas the reason why im not driving one is insurance! It was ALOT (like 2k) more than my evo. I was planing on purchasing a 02 Z06...but Payments + Parking + Insurance is quite abit more than my Evo, which by the way I'm highly satisfied with!

The reason why I didn't go drive the STI. I knew I was going to modify the car, thus I took a lower priced/better handling/better looking vehicle w/ more engine potential. (2.5L Aluminum Block/Completely unproven) Also, no one knows wtf an STI is... Which depletes me of my "Ferrari-esque" looks from people...

4G63 is fast...period.

The best looking 6 cylinder engine I have seen is Porsche's. If they make a 6 cylinder engine for the EVO, I hope it does not come out looking like the Eclipse 6, 350Z six, G35 6, etc. I think those set-ups are very ugly. I like the way the 4G63 looks-small, efficient, powerful, and strong.

Yeah but the difference is that porsche knew when it was time to move on, hence the water-cooled flat 6's in them now.

I would not put raing statistics in the engine argument. If the rally car is up to racing specs, the race is 90% driver. Thought you knew

You guys should be judging the engine on different criteria.

The evo makes more hp per liter than almost any other engine out there. 135.5 hp per liter

None of you on this board will push your evo to the point of needing a new block.

Therefore, the block is perfect for the application.

How about the 4g64 block with the 4g63 head. Came out of the 4 cylinder galant's. 2.4 litre block for displacement to spool the large turbos, like a Y2k T88. Hell of a lotta power with this application.

comming from the wrx world those guys worship the 4G63. And for good reason. Go to NASOIC sometime and do a search on engine failure. The ej's cylinders come out of round and people spin bearings with much less power than the 4G63 can make.

What I'm saying is that this is nice not to be an issue. You know the block is gonna hold.

Heads with variable valve timing would be nice as an addition

I believe I had read that one of the major reasons Porsche moved to water cooled engines was due to emissions.
