Rain and rear diff noise
I remember some other folks complaining about this issue before. While driving in the rain today the rear end made a strange noise every time I went through a puddle. I just spent the last 45 min. looking for the old threads but I didn't have any luck. Did anyone find the root cause for the problem and is there a fix for it?
What exhaust do you have? When I had a HKS exhaust I found that it was rubbing the rear drive line joint. This only happened when it rained and I went through puddles.

I have the megan exhaust. So you're saying when the water hit your exhaust it was enough to tweak it towards the rear prop where it rubbed? Would the rubbing go away after say 10-15 seconds or did it hand around for longer? I will have to take a look later when I get home at how close my exhaust is to the propshafts and their pinions. Did you change out your exhaust or somehow move it?
Thank you for the quick response.
Thank you for the quick response.
I ended getting the Vishnu Standard Exhaust which fixed the problem. I think HKS put the resinator to close to the joint and when you would hit a bump or go through a puddle it would cause them to rub. I find it odd that it would rub the worst when it would rain, but thats how it happened. When I would go through a puddle the sound would be pretty loud, and you could tell it was due to a rotation of some sort (drive line). It would last anywhere from 10-30 seconds or so. Sometimes going over bumps would cause the same effect.
