Should I buy this Flywheel? Pic inside

Hey someone is selling me this flywheel it is a fidanza. Should i buy it and what are those brown rusty looking marks? Can they be removed easily? They claim it is brand new...

30$ and you can have your local napa shop resurface it, and it will be brand new with no rust. and you want to make sure when its installed that all the finger prints are washed off with break cleaner before the clutch is installed on it.

That looks like light rust that should come off fairly easily. I wouldnt be concerned and I wouldn't have it resurfaced. I have seen too many flywheels get screwed up by machine shops that don't know what they are doing.

Just bought a Fidanza flywheel (although it was for my Camry) and had it installed. No problems, and it's much lighter than the Toyota stocker. Perfect fit. That rust should come off easily since it's a friction surface. I wouldn't worry about it. However, I would use the rust as leverage to negotiate down on the price : )

Cool thing is that you can always send it in to Fidanza, when needed, to have the friction surface replaced. Heard that they do it for a very reasonable price too.

If the rust is severe enough to cause pitting then you can purchase a new ring for $50.
