[QUOTE=Zeus] As far as multi disc clutches... well, 90% of Evo owners don't NEED one. QUOTE]

it just seems like a good upgrade - single to multi

If I were to get a clutch I would buy an ACT clutch. Had one in my Type-R for three years and it held up well.

I have no problems with my HKS GD Max twin disc. 5K+ rpm launches all night at the track 1.64 60ft.

ACT is nice, but so is Clutchnet. I've run clutchnet before and they are very durable, smooth assemblies. There's a 9sec VR6 Jetta turbo here and all he runs is Clutchnet w/ good results. Check out www.pagparts.com

burning .. if you aren't racing you will love th ACT HD to death.. extremely drivable and under 5 C notes for the set. Do not hesitate to remove the plastic restrictor in your slave cylinder, clutch action without it has much better feel.

What about the Exedy OEM clutch kit from Gripforce? They are selling them on ebay for $280 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...sPageName=WDVW). My clutch is about to go out and I need to replace it within a week. I was leaning towards ACT, but found this one. Does anybody know anything more about it? I only have an MBC with Dynoflash, so no major mods. I might do a little upgrading in the future, but nothing too extreme. Thanks!

Road Race Engineering's "No-Name" clutch also seems interesting: http://www.roadraceengineering.com/evo/nonameclutch.htm

My clutch has started slipping and now I'm trying to decide between the RRE clutch and the WORKS CK2... Installation is going to cost $$$ so I figure if I can spend a few more bucks for something that'll last longer, I might as well.

Why are you referring to "allowing quick spool" .... we are talking about clutches, which have 0% to do with spool-up, did you mean something else by that

Also the stock turbo/IC had nothing to do with what clutch you get either.

Exedy Hyper Single. Stock like feel, but durable and silky smooth rapid fire shifts. Had the Act 8, and burnt it up in about 3 months. Of course, it was my fault, slipped it thru every gear at the dragstrip, but not heavy duty, in any sense of the word IMO. Plus, the clutch pedal is about twice as stiff as stock.

Their weight has just as much to do with it as a light flywheel...
