The cams came straight off, the new ones went back in, straight in, moved less than a millimeter to get them in the cam gears. We are currently of the opinion that it isn't timing, it seems to be fuel.

The way I check for fuel is to remove the return line of the fuel rail, add hose to the outlet and dump it to a container . Then start the car fuel will come out of the return line, if not then there is your problem.

I also use this method to remove all fuel from the gas tank and add higher octane fuel, no mix!

Ok, found out the fuel pump had a loose connection. We fixed that, have fuel flowing, it will start, run for 5-6 seconds in a well balanced manner (not skipping or hesitating), then quit, sounds like a fuel cut. Spark plug is staying dry (like it's burning the fuel).

strange. I am glad you mentioned a loose wire on the fuel pump because I was going to suggest that since those 2 wires (blue and black) easily pop off when you pull on the fuel pump a little too hard taking it out.

ok, engine runs for about 3-5 seconds smooth, then quits like fuel cut.

It's ALIVE!!!!, It's Alive!!!. Ok, it still won't stay running, but I started it, and got real aggressive with the throttle and she ran for 30 seconds or so, but still won't stay running at idle.

Just wondering...If you held it at 1500rpm's , would it stay running or fall flat on it's face just like it at idle?

Mas plug is in, ecu is reset, vaccum seems normal, timing is spot on according to the indicator marks. No, at 1500, it still dies.

Tubo timer installed ? I'd take it out and re-check. Could be something faulty in the Timer.

Check out this site.

http://www.fueltech.com.au/diagnostics.htm

Hope this helps.

FWIW..I'm leaning towards your EFI temp switch being bad. Had this problem on a Toyota that would just stop running. No codes thrown. Replaced the $30 part and it's fixed.

It sounds exactly like what happens with the MAS unplugged or an IC pipe off. You're absolutely positive that ALL sensors are connected? What are you running for a BOV and is it recirculated back to the intake pipe? If you've done anything with the intake pipe/MAS, make sure the clamps are tight around the MAS and turbo inlet.
