Problem with Blitz Turbo Timer

Well just fitted a Blitz Full Auto Turbo Timer (the old version, which is the first one), and whenever i turn on the ignition, the FATT waits for a few seconds then turns red even while car running (regardless of the mode)! it starts ticking to initiate count down, but the timer doesnt move.. turns zero when i switch off the car and it stops immediately.

have i screwed up the wiring, or is the FATT not working properly?

thanks for the help

Something's definately messed up. I installed mine last weekend in about 4hours with no problems. Did you use an ignition harness or splice the wires youself?? How about hooking up to the parking brake switch??

No i am using a harness, but the harness was made for the newer models of the turbo timer and i had to rewire turbo timer connection only, the male and female connector to ignition is fine!

i dont want to connect to hand brake, i thought it wasnt necessary?

thanks

I use the Blitz D1 Spec Turbo Timer. Installed it about 5 months ago and has been working like a charm ever since. You will need to install the ground wire (mine was purple from the turbo timer, I think) to the hand brake groun. This is so no one can drive away with your car for approximately 1 minute.

If I turn off my key with the hand brake down the car immediately shuts off. When the hand brake is up the car will countdown for the time I have asked it to.

My guess is you should go back through your wiring and ground the wire to the hand brake ground.

Yeah, you need to hook up the purple wire to the handbrake (preferred) or just ground it.

use the red splicer that came with your turbo timer.. you just pinch it on the handbrake wire
