evo feels week

i just bought a used 03 evo with 4700 miles on it. when i drive it hard the car feels like it has no power over 5500 - 6000 rpms, is this because of the boost tapering or could there be a problem??? also would a boost controller fix it?
thanks.

Its probably boost tapering. I felt the same thing untill i got an MBC. It still happens a little bit but some fuel tuning ought to take care of it. I think its pretty indicative of all 03s.
