ok so any fix yet? my rpms hang even when i am stopped, if i rev it then the revs drop slow. so i do not think it is the clutch, that would make it drop faster since the car is not moving.

thanks

I have an adjustable hybrid BOV (GFB). The more VTA the worse the rpm-hang gets. At full recirc it does not hang at all.

I'm used to this situation now, however I'd like to find a solution because this is causing me another problem.

Let's say you accelerate hard, then you need to slow down quickly because someone cut in front of you. Since your car is keeping the RPMs high braking is harder, the car is still trying to accelerate while you brake, so your brakes have to work double unless you depress the clutch. Not good for anyone, longer braking distances, brake pads wear faster...

I have the same issue, on a stock IX RS. I took it to the dealer this morning, they had never heard of the problem, but checked out the car anyways. all they could do was "reset" the IAC valve, but the problem is still there.

I have this same problem. iI Just changed out the BOV to a Forge direct replacement and it just seemed to get worse. With the stock BOV I would get the rpm hang and fall really slow while boosting and depressing the clutch in a fast manner. Now with the Forge i get the big rpm jump when i shift under boost anything under 7k. I also have a really annoying problem when at partial throttle my car will jump like crazy and jerk really bad if you are at partial throttle and let off the gas.. Anyone know waht this is or how to fix it???????

I had the same problem, took the forge BOV off and it had a slight leak, opened it up and noticed alot of oil bulid up (even with my Perrin oil catch can), put on the stock BOV back on and the problem went away, forge BOV was sticking due to the oil build up which allowed air back into the intake. Problem fixed......thank god. Make sure you relube the BOV before reinstall..

Just came home from AutoX. Ive noticed the same problem, slightly, before. But i had come to a stop at a stop sign, clutch in, gas pedal released, and rpms held at 4k until I put it in 4th (while stopped) and got to chill out. I did a boost leak test yesterday and found that my throttle shaft seals were bad. It wouldnt even hold 10 psi with an air compressor. Not sure about everyone else's situation, but thats where Im checking first. Ive got some new seals on the way, and I will also check out the cable while in there (I did tighten it down the other day...)

CB

Oh and I hope this isnt a repost, Im getting tired and didnt read all 20 pages

wow 20 pages and I read thru all of them and then some. Seems like there are a few threads on this topic. I have the same problem that many have experienced on this board. My first thought was the clutch so after reading a few posts, I was ok with that answer but as you continue reading, it seems that it could be something else like the BOV, etc. I won't even attempt to post a theory or a guess, so tomorrow I will check my Greddy Type RS BOV. If I notice a difference or fix my RPM issue, whether it be by replacing my clutch or whatever, I will post it here. Hopefully it will help others too.

My first thought was aftermarket BOVs that vent to atmosphere and stock BOVs that leak. Has anyone messed with the MAF sensor yet? If that f-er is giving weird signals it could definitely be the cause. Luckily I don't have this problem!

Bought the car brand new and started doing this after one of the intercooler pipes blew off at 40k. Ever since then I have this throttle hang.

ive had the issue since i started driving it after break in period. It doesnt happen consistently; however it does happen more when i have in a higher rpm and get on it and then get off. Just the other day i noticed a real bad issue with it when someone cut me off i revved it real high since i was irritated and the rpms took FOREVER to come back down after i was stopped already. i was like Holy $hit this sux... car has just over 3000 miles on it and only mod i've put on is my exhaust.

doesnt the dealer have an answer for this to fix it?
