Apexi Turbo Timer O2 Question ? PICTURES inside

I have the Apexi Turbo timer on my Evolution MR. When in the A/F mode there are two settings that need to be udjusted. The first goes from 11.0 to 10.0 and the other is from 900 to 999. Can some explain what values I need to input to get a more "accurate" reading. PLEASE ONLY RESPOND IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. Thanks for your time guys/girls.

I have this hooked up in my car but didn't screw with any of the settings. I don't rely on this display at all; to me it's just eye candy. When I get around to putting in a wide-band then I'll pay more attention to O2 readings. 1V O2 sensors will only show rough order of magnitude...

I'll be able to answer the technical details of this question when I get home and find my chart of this... I just wanted to say that you shouldn't expect any significant measure of accuracy using the Apex'i Turbo Timer's O2 readout no matter what adjustments you make.

what he said^, when I installed the turbo timer in my friend's evo, I didn't bother to hook-up the a/f ratio (it's only accurate around 14.7a/f ratio)

Get a wide band, unless you plan to leave the car stock. Had I waited, I think i would be tempted to only mod suspension, and leave the rest stock.

While what everyone says is true, it doesnt answer the question. I would like to know what these numbers mean as well. Thanks

You should find your answer here.......

Basically it deals with voltage reads from the O2 sensor along with A/F ratio from the O2 sensor. You can set your warning for voltage and A/F ratio using the chart in the attached document.

The first setting you saw was the timer reading in a/f ratio, the second is the same thing but in lamda. Kinda like psi and bar, same sh*t just a different way of reading it. Hope that helped.

The chart is a graphical representation of the common O2 sensors voltage vs air fuel ratio curve. If you were to plot the voltage vs. air fuel you would have the output graph of the O2 sensor. You don't do anything to these numbers, you leave them the way they are if you are hooked up to the stock O2 sensor.

The only reason I can think of that you would change this is if you wanted to use the display as a wideband readout. The Innovate motorsports wideband has a programable analog output that will let you make the output a linear 0 to 1 volt out. If you do this you could go in and change the values on the turbo timer to a linear graph and use the turbo timer as a display for the wideband. This is what I plan on doing one day. The graph would read something like this:

Ov = 18:1
.1 v = 17:1
.2 v = 16:1
.3 v = 15:1
.4 v = 14:1
.5 v = 13:1
.6 v = 12:1
.7 v = 11:1
.8 v = 10:1
.9 v = 9:1
1.0 v = 8:1

actually would probably make 0V = 20:1 and 1v = 10:1, just didn't want to retype all that again!!

and program the LM-1 to display the same.

I like the looks of the HKS myself. Do timers cause a warranty issue? Also, with the synthetic oil do we really need a timer?

set the low one on 12 and high on 15.

you should always stay in 13 and 14.

then again, that a/f readouts only accurate to 14.6

I wouldn't trust it.
