Any Profec Type S users....
I just installed my new Profec Type S boost controller, I removed my Profec Spec B II. Before the change, I was holding 20psi on low and about 23-24psi on high. When I installed the Type S, on low boost, the max it would hold was 17 psi. On high boost, maxed out, the most it holds is 21-22 psi. This was with everything maxed out, the gain knob turned all the way to the right and also the high boost knob. After a couple of runs, I went back and replaced the Type S with the Spec II and hello 23-24psi again. I then installed the Type S again and same issue no higher than 22psi. There are no boost leaks of course and the install is pretty straight forward. According to Greddy it is supposed to hold almost 43psi, but so far it doens't look like it in my case, so i wanted to see if anyone is running this unit yet. If so, is it holding boost, specially high bost?
Here is a link of the unit:

I just installed the Type-S today and I am running into the exact same issue.
I also get a waver of about 1/2 psi at any pressure if I have the gain set at anything but 0. Looks like I might take this back and swap it for the type II.

DrEvo, how come you swapped the specII for the type-s? Just curious because i'm about to purchase an EBC and it's down to the spec-s and spec II. Well more the spec-s because it seems easier to work with lol.Did you have any issues w/ the spec II? Thanks for the help

I'll have to go back to my Spec II for now until the issue gets resolved. Hope they solve it soon because it would be a great unit once this little quirk gets taken care of.
Did you try different gain settings? You should never need the gain all the way up as you probably know. I would probably try 0 gain, 50% gain, then 15% gain just to see what it does.

I can concur DrEvo's findings - I borrowed a friends extra profec II. After learning how to tune it (what a pain) I got nice solid boost - but again any gain setting over about 5% resulted in lots of waver. I was able to hit 21.6 psi with the set on 55% ( turned it back down to a reasonable 21 - warning at 21.6) i didnt set it higher but obviously it goes higher.
I dont know how DrEvo did it but I simply swapped the controllers I did not touch the solenoid at all.

vacuum and wiring alone since they are the same. I am going to try and use the solenoid from my spec II sometime this weekend. I'll post my findings once I have finished the test.
