How's the install for a set of cams? That is one thing I've never installed before.

I made a 12.7 pass with that same set-up you have listed with 1.8 60fts.

Unless the manufacturer of the intake is going to reprogram your ECU as well, or you find a program specifically for your intake from someone else you might want to stay away from aftermarket intakes. Your goal should be obtainable with a stock intake, then you retain ease of use, and no funny business with MAF readings.

I bet a good driver with a short shift kit and clutch upgrade could make a 12.99 sec pass with these mods alone...

Yeah, I've had my own issues with the whole intake thing. The first intake I tried was the K&N Typhoon- and that was a monstrosity. Found a ton of people on here with the same problem- so I returned it and now have the PErrin shortram. It feels very strong. I dont' know how it will compare to the stock intake- without having a flash done to the ECU with the intake mod being considered.

I guess we'll see after I go to the track.

does intake really give you much gain? realistically n/a cars average 1-2whp spending like 300 dollars on a CAI or short ram or what not, where they could have spent 60 dollars on a drop in filter like k&n , but for the f/i cars , does it make a big difference? average 5 more whp???

from what I've read the intake won't do a whole lot over our stock intakes. The stock intake really isnt' that bad. Some are worse than others but if I could do it over again I'd just put a dropin filter in.

But I guess once I get the TT flash- they will consider the intake mod and adjust the fuel settings to accomodate it.

I was jut wondering what most of you who are running 12's in this car have done.
AEM-ecu/ 3.5 bar map & iat sensor/Hallman mbc 23lbs psi/3" turboback/272 cams/custom intake plumbing with HKS mega flow/Tial dv/fuel pump/94 oct pump gas/DNP header & O2 housing = 12.3 - 1/4, 1.7 - 60' (note: stock clutch was slipping at the time), 'guess better et's will be achieved next time on this new set up: Fidanza f/wheel + ACT stage 1

If one wants to break into the 12s inexpensively and with consistency, all that's needed is a competent reflash, 3" turboback exhaust, mbc, and good driving skills.

As usual I concur with Ted B.

3" exhaust, MBC, AFC or reflash and you should be solidly into the 12's @ 105-108mph

I went 12.3 @ 108 with the above mods and the injen pipes...but Im sure It would have gone just as fast without the intake parts.
