David, will you be experimenting any further with this project or will this be the final product? I don't want to buy if there is going to be an updated version later on...

Oh come on. =o) There will always be updates. It is the nature of the cars. The products will be improved with time and new experience/research.

To answer the clipping question it basically makes the exhaust wheel less restrictive for more top end flow but can take a little spool away. However, if Buschur ports these turbo housings with his magic, they usually have more power with the same spool. The actual clipping of the exhaust turbine is usually measured in degrees such as 5 degree clip or as large as a 15 degree clip. Naturally the wheel has to be clipped very carefully and tested for balance or the thing could come apart very quickly so don't try this in your garage at home.

The original plan was to offer these with the option of the EVO VI TME hot side.... can the titanium exhaust wheel be clipped like the stock wheel? I currently have the TME turbo and want to send it in for the clip of the exhaust wheel and replacement of the turbin wheel... is that still an option? If yes, how much?

Thanks,

Keith

PS: Before anyone complains about people asking price, the situation has changed... clipping was never part of the original set of options.

Does the current clipped wheel configuration use the 9.8 or 10.5 hotside? If the clipped configuration is based on the 9.8 hotside, will you be offering a 10.5 version (for people running the ti wheel and/or 10.5 housings)?

That was my question because I was going to buy a 10.5 hotside but if it comes with one I don't want to spend the money.

i think you guys are worrying too much. a wheel can be used in either housing just fine... it's not the housing that is changed in size it's the nozzle. plus... this is an exchange based mod. so wahtever you have to core you would get the savings from. best to buy it used or something and core it to save yourself that money instead of buying it new or buying someone else's core from buschur.

it is a legit concern to find out if this wheel is ti/al. but i think it is.

Page 27 answers.

Not possible to see a dyno chart as our dyno is sold and gone. Our new MD won't be here for another 5 weeks. The turbo was 2 mph faster in the 1/4 mile than the stock modified turbo that was on my RS, this was also running less boost.

Price, with your core is $850.

I have not tested the turbo at 26 psi yet. I feel it would come close to holding that boost BUT it would take hitting probably 28-30 psi on a spike to get there OR using an external gate.

Turn around time, less than a week.

Clipping is machining the wheel at an angle, this relieves back pressure on the turbine side.

I am guessing at the same boost level about 20 whp gains.
