Just had a huge oh **** moment!

So i'm driving back from lunch, and I'm getting on it pretty good and all of a sudden i hear a loud POP sound and my car is pretty much dead in the water. I'm thinking, oh crap I just dropped the transmission somehow, look behind me and don't see anything on the road, try to give it some gas and the rpm's don't even move. Get pulled over to the side of the road, pop the hood and see the upper most intercooler turbo pipe that sits nearest to the firewall had popped itself right off! Over the weekend I installed a catch can, hks rs intake and a new BOV and I had that whole pipe off. I guess I didn't tighten it enough and it slowly worked itself off until it was just about off and my last run up thru the boost was enough to make it fully come off. You can bet your *** that the clamp/screw is on there tight as hell now! Scared the **** outta me!

yeah. that happens.
thats the biggest problem with that factory flex pipe. its seriously blows up like a balloon and pops off. had it happen to me a few times on my eclipse and so far twice on the evo.
at least now in the future youll know what the problem is as soon as it happens.

I'm going out tonight to buy a small set of screw drivers and a small socket set to keep in my glove box..i had to put it back on by hand and drive ever so gingerly back to work till i could get a screw driver

Are T clamps alot better than the ones on there now? What do they look like?

never happend to my evo but had it happen couple of times on my old mazdaspeed protege, If it happens again spray alittle hair spray on the rubber connecting tube and it will help hold it alot without makeing a big mess.

It happened to me once on my Eclipse, pretty interesting and scary, especially when you're doing 80 mph.

I always hear about this, but it has never happened to me. I can't wait until I get new IC piping.
