Another clutch question

I have 5500 miles on my MR, and the last couple of days , when I start the car for the first time in the morning. When shifting, the car vibrates a little while catching the clutch.

This stops when the car warms up.

any ideas

This sounds normal. It may be that the clutch chatters a bit when completely cold and when up to temperature it is fine. At times depending on the clutch disc material it is normal to have to warm things up a bit to get the full effect of the material. It's like when you have a set of race spec brake pads, you need a couple of laps to get them up to their optimum performance. Don't worry unless it gets much worse.

That's normal. I ALWAYS let my car heat up a bit before driving.

Yep.. MY 03 does it also. You can feel the clutch grabbing. Once it is warm it is fine.

Try letting it warm up first and see if the problem still occurs.

It may still do it even when u let the car warm up IF it's extremly cold outside and the car has been sitting a while.

I usually punch the gas a little bit and let it slip to warm up the clutch then its all good
