Who makes IHI? ...never heard of them before. Im not sure what kind of pump gas they get in Malaysia but those numbers are pretty impressive I THINK. I was there for work about in 2001 & 2002 and stayed for 15 months but cant remember what octane they use. Im a newbie to dyno graphs so im not good at reading power curves or what ever you call it...is that a good turbo by looking at the dyno graph?

Maybe someone can explain how a good turbo is suppose to look like on a dyno graph?

Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co., Ford used these on the '87-'88 Thunderbird TurboCupes, replacing the Garrett in the earlier ones for quicker spool and less surging.

 

Did you look at the dyno graph though? The area under the curve is pretty crappy IMO. It produces a good peak number, but the power doesn't come on until pretty high in the RPM band. This would be a bad daily driver if that's what people want. Impressive numbers though.

 

Thats because the turbo they are using uses a fairly large P27 housing to try achieve a bigger top end gain ( reduced backpressure on turbine) but on IHI RX6's, they make good top end regardless and will do so even if they drop the exhaust housing size a little to make up that crappy response..It'll be a dog to drive on the road though... By the way thats not whp its engine hp and the conversion to wheel hp on that dyno is almost 25 percent!!! So that makes about close to 400 on wheels. V Power in Malaysia is 97 octane ( RON)...

 

I have a brand new Apexi Rx6 or Rx6d with a P20 housing for an Evo but Im in need of a larger P27 housing.. Anyone know where I could source/buy one? Thx all
