Hey guys I just installed my Invidia Turbo back exhaust. Everything looks great and lines up well, but the downpipe doesn't even come close to clearing the suspension cross members that go underneath it.

I'm sure I could have screwed something up, but it seems rather simple since I've installed several exhaust systems myself as well. Has anyone here ran into the same problem....are their any stupid common mistakes that I could have made that would cause it to hang too low?

It feels like its lined up right on the 02 housing...no leaks from what I can tell....the exhaust is lined up temporarily with the stock cat, but only because I haven;t received my CEL eliminator yet. Its supposed to line up with the stock cat with no problems as well. Help!

Nope you didnt mess up mine is the same way. It just hangs down too low. I havent even got my bars put back on (too lazy) but you can just get some washers to put in there to make the bars clear the DP, just a cheap fix. I also heard the RMR brace fits with the Invidia DP, but thats just what I heard I dont know for sure.

I went with the UR test pipe instead so I wouldnt have to get the 02 eliminator. I've had teh test pipe on for about 3K miles or more and no CEL. Well good luck with the install of the bars and keep me posted, i need to get under the car and do it someday

 

not clearing the cross bars is a common problem with most (if not all?) 3 inch DP's.

 

Ah well crap....I was told they were supposed to clear. My pipe seems to be hanging very low...neither bar was even close to actually attaching. I'd say i need at least a half inch. Someone told me how they just instaled the bars anyways with the Invidia pipe and even though it comes in contact....its a firm enough contact that it doesn't make any noise. I'm a bit aprehensive about this just because i don't want to damage the DP or send vibration back into the car or something.

 

I had the same problem with mine. I only place one of the cross bars.

 

My Buschur racing 3" downpipe cleared them just fine.

 

Hmm well it sounds like i might just need to make an exhange if I can't get this one to line up correctly.
