is this kid wants high 13's and some occasional low 13's. a b16a stock should do.

how do you make crx 1800 pounds? that means you have to take a lot of crap out of your car and still you'll be around 2000+ pounds.

Thanks

Thanks for the input guys.... friend was going to do a B16 swap but i was just thinking hey 4g63 not too much more ... and it would be something different. plus i heard alot of bad things about hondas with high boost and they all end with the word boom ! =/ just curious what it would take to put Evo power in Crx body =)

Tru. If you took everything unneeded out of the car, including the dash board, passenger seat, interior panels, etc., you could probably drop the weight down somewhat close to 1800 pounds. The HF model is the lightest. According to the owners manual, my former 1990 CRX HF supposedly weighed 1951 pounds. It had no sunroof, no power anything, and it was very easy to take apart. The 1988-89 CRX HF models were the lightest of the second Gen CRX's.

If you're building an N/A race car, I think a B20 is your best choice ($ & perf. wise) for a motor. If you want FI, go with a B18C.

Putting a 4G63 in a CRX without AWD is stupid and with it is too much money and modification. Unless you're made of money skip that option.
As for the engine swaps if you're only into strait line, H22 engine is your best bet. It's relatively inexpensive compared to the others especially K20 and it's only 40lbs heavier than the B16A.
Go over to honda-tech.com, those guys did just about any Honda swap possible.
Like naucrx said, if you wanna go turbo go B18C but expect to pay at least $6000-8000 for the whole setup which IMHO is way too much unless again again, you're (or your friend) a master mechanic and engineer so you can do lots of stuff at home, something like DIY.

after alot of laughing and prying him off my engine bay. i was wondering if it is possible... comments please .... will a 4g63 fit in a 1988 crx si .... yay or nay.
Why spend so much money on a swap when there are cheaper ways of doing things? Strip the sound deadening out, get some stupid *** light 14 or 15" wheels, in the 9-11lb range, lighter brakes, lighter seats and either swap a different honda engine in or go with a mild forced induction kit! For what he would probably spend on the 4G swap, he could totally build out his car top to bottom and be pulling some low times.

Unhappy

Hondas can be quick, it's just all the RICERS out there that give them a bad name and image.

Don't get me wrong I LOVE my Evo but I use to have a B18 powered all motor 1992 HB that ran 12.7 @ 107 ish weighing in at 2400lbs with me in it and slicks. Without slicks it ran 13.3 @ 105 ish. The top end on this car was just crazy.

FYI, as you can tell by the weight of the car it had full interior and I also ran full exhaust with muffler.

Not bad for a total of about $10k invested and it was my daily driver.

Even knowing I love the new Evo, I still miss the honda. It was reliable, fast and even a sleaper. No stickers, no wing, no body kit, no big wheels.

I wouldn't say k20a or b18c on a crx is going to run low 13's. maybe high 13's with bolt ons.
crx with k20a would do easily high 12" or low 13" i owned rsx type s before my evo , and with few bolt on i did 13"7 on 1/4 so a crx would do a lot better because of the weigth diffrence, also one of the mechanics that works in paragon acura owns a 92 hatch and he has a k20a in it and hes doing mid 12" on the track , so i definitly would say crx has great chances of reaching these times !!!!!

99-00 civic hb, b20 bottom, b18 top, CRV AWD drivetrain with JDM 5 spd manual.... all motor capable of mid 12s... turbo, well, you might need to reinforce the AWD drivetrain
