I'm interested in the shifter as well, I'm sure if I do a search I can find some feedback...but while in this post I figured I'd ask for a bit more on the shifter and throw. Thanks.

I just installed this last night. WOW its awesome it made a HUGE diffrence on my car because I have an oz and the shift throw was horribly long but now its nice and short and very precise. Thanks Tom so much for offering such a great product! I only f****d up one part of the install when i was putting the hard to reach under-the-hood bushing in... As i was pulling the metal clip thingy out of the hole that holds the bushing in it fell and i lost it! DOH! well anyways for now I just put a nail in there and bent the end so that it wont fall off but be careful as you are taking those things out they FLY out. Anyone know where i could get that little metal clip that holds the bushing in? Would Pep boys or autozone have that sort of thing? Thanks again Tom!

I believe the piece you lost is called a cotter pin they should have one at your local hardware store.

Kartboy makes excellent products. I had their shortshifter and bushings in my wife's WRX. Made a huge difference.

I have the underhood bushings in my EVO. I've been toying with the idea of the shortshifter lately... Does the shift knob help shifting and act as a counterweight at all?

the knob definately helps with shifting... its much heavier than the stock knob which really helps with smooth, quick throws.

The only drawback is that it takes more effort to shift. Other than that i'd say its well worth it if you get the bushings because those make a big diffrence too. Shifts are more precise and you can really rifle through the gears with shorter shifts and less movement in the shifter base itself. It's an awesome mod it makes the car feel as if its "sportier"

Thanks AdamRA I'm gonna check tommrow at Home Depot for it but I'll be fine for now its working with the bent nail.
