How are the 05's and MRs clutches holding up?
A little OT for all these people posting about the 03'/04' experiences...
There is a clutch poll floating around here some where. The results are overwhelmingly in favor of the clutch not being "bad". The percentage of clutch failures in the few hundred members who posted, is very low. It would suggest the the failures are attributed to driver error and average manufacturing inconsistencies (keeping in mind this group is really too small for truly conclusive results). I personally drive the **** out of my car every day... I'm an 03' at 36k with restrictor removed, clutch line installed very early on (for what that's worth).

I have 03 evo with 28k on stock clutch and i have had no problems but i have smelled the
clutch on many occasions, i have heard alot of advise on how to launch the evo and i personly believe the best way is to rev and drop, every time i slipped the clutch like so many
people advise you to do i smell clutch burning. what is realy the best way iam not sure but
my way has made my clutch last till 28k. just my opinion.

Back from the dead, because...
I am now just replacing my stock clutch after 36k mi, with about half on track. The only reason for the swap is once I hit 430whp, the clutch slipped. I still drove it, just dialed the boost down.
An OS Giken should be in this week.
No drivetrain issues to date! Plenty of Motul used for the first 15k mi and plenty of AMSOIL being used now. Maybe a modded rear diff in my future but not yet. Waiting for the 6spd upgrade to be available.
