[QUOTE]On the stock turbo the injection kit would also allow you to run much higher boost - say 24 - 25 psi peak palling to 21 at red line along with about 3 degrees of ingition advance both of which should yield at least 30 - 40 whp[QUOTE]

Three degrees of advance over what? Stock or whatever we were able to get away with prior to alcohol injection? Is that three degrees across the board or just up top? Just wondering

The timing is advanced off the base timing I run on the reflash

When you introduce the alcohol into the situation you can then really lean on the boost and timing just like you can on race fuel

I guess that is the best way to explain it - the alcohol injection allows you to run race gas setting and make race gas numbers - on pump gas - saving a lot of money

And anyone know whats up yet with how it will work with the 05's? We have no intercooler spray. Also how much is the liquid cost to refill?

Al also hit me back with a PM on my Wastegate Spring bro. I am picking up a couple more mods and putting them on so I will be ready for the tune.

After all of the testing, 4-5 first thru fourth and the multiple times I got into it driving 230 miles home it looks like it used about a quart of denatured alcohol ($10 a gallon at Lowes).

The crapier the gas the better this will work
For the BR water injection to drop boost when a problem arises wouldnt the car need to be running on the factory solinoid? How does it work when you are running an EBC? Can boost still be dropped?\

I'm curious about this, but wondering about daily maintenance. How reliable is the kit? Would I have to keep a close eye on the assembly part of it?

Also, how does it work? Is it fully auto? RPM based?

Based off boost, not much to do jsut run it like normal, check the levels and every once and a while check the psi of of the pump.

very entruiging,questions:
if it is switched on and off is their a need to use dual maps for the different settings? or just one map that utilizes the higher boost setting (that can also deliver a reliable map for normal non-alcohol injection usage)?
can you see the pump on the resivior from the bay or is it tucked into the driver side fendor or behind lights?(could you post pics of birds-eye view of the engine bay w/injection installed)
this sounds awesome as i am forced to run the 91- lemonade

That doesnt sound too bad. Would this mod be worth it on a stock turbo?

The way the controller works is as boost rises it feeds in more alky. Mine is set up to come on with 18psi of boost. The controller also has spray light to tell you when it is working, it also has a test button so you can read pressure off the pump. I am sure if you wanted to you could put the pressure gauge inside the car to constantly monitor it. Also if you have a A/F guage in the car you will be able to see the A/F drop rapidly as the system is engauged. The reason it will dop is the added fuel (alky) on top of your fuel from the injectors.

Now remember that having the A/F drop is not a bad thing, if you were to look at a motor running methanol you would see a A/F of 5.5-7, reason is Alky has a ratio of 6-1 for A/F verses 14-1 on gas with a NA (forced indution is a little lower for both number). So if you ever tune with the alky you must let the a/f drop to the high 9's to low 10's and NOT try to tune it back to the 11-1 you had on gas. If you do it will launch the motor from running to lean.

Denataured Alcohol=ethanol+a little methanol added.

Dave,

Please correct me if any of this is wrong.

The above statement is incorrect. Yes the ratio needed for meth to air is around 6/1. But it does not affect the wideband reading like that. Running alky allows leaner readings on the wideband without hurting the motor. My car loves 12.5-12.8 a/f and I have run as lean as 13.8 without knock. Tuning to 11.8-12.0 with alky injection is actually a very safe tune. My car makes 10% more whp leaning from 11.5 to 12.5.
If you are considering alky. You should consider the kit AMS is selling. It is a better design and far more capable kit. The kit was designed in conjunction with alkycontrol.com. I use his pump and progressive control. I currently can run 30.5psi on my greddy 25g with no knock. Do some research, spraying 100% if far more effective and truly simulates runnig race fuel all the time.
