Best Evo Power mod of 2005, from Buschur Racing

So if you ever tune with the alky you must let the a/f drop to the high 9's to low 10's and NOT try to tune it back to the 11-1 you had on gas. If you do it will launch the motor from running to lean.

The above statement is incorrect. Yes the ratio needed for meth to air is around 6/1. But it does not affect the wideband reading like that. Running alky allows leaner readings on the wideband without hurting the motor. My car loves 12.5-12.8 a/f and I have run as lean as 13.8 without knock. Tuning to 11.8-12.0 with alky injection is actually a very safe tune. My car makes 10% more whp leaning from 11.5 to 12.5.
If you are considering alky. You should consider the kit AMS is selling. It is a better design and far more capable kit. The kit was designed in conjunction with alkycontrol.com. I use his pump and progressive control. I currently can run 30.5psi on my greddy 25g with no knock. Do some research, spraying 100% if far more effective and truly simulates runnig race fuel all the time.

this sounds awesome as i am forced to run the 91- lemonade

Thats what I was thinking makes the most sense and is the safest way of doing it. May not make the most power but at least the motor stand a chance if the system should fail.

BTW - we made over 340 whp on pump gas with stage 2 (no cams) and 360 tq - smooth like a pond. Aboslute madness
Buschur is a genious
I have been driving this thing for a few days now...you don't need to tell me. A first I was not that impressed with the 1st/2nd untill I realized third pulls harder only b/c it is the first gear that actually hooks up! This thing is just stupid
Not only that but the throttle response from your tune is just amazing, and I am able to get the idle down to 850rpm.

Even with all the years and years that he has in this business, he retains the passion and dedication to doing a totally professional and through job each time, no matter how late or how tired. We worked till almost 2:00 a.m. and 15 hours one day this weekend.
I wish that every evo owner could personally drive your car to see how amazing it is. When you consider the resaonable prices Buschur Racing charges and the results and quality of the products, IMHO there is no match.
Its no accident that the fastest stock turbo evo 11.2 uses Buschur parts.
Now, its time to take the lessons I learned from Dave and apply them to my own evo. The alcohol in particular is my focus at this moment.
Check this out....

This is a dyno graph showing the BR Stg 2 on and off alcohol injection. As you can see the #200 pull was done with AFR's in the 11.8:1 range at its leanest point.
The #204 pull was done with the AFR's off the charts and richer than 10.9:1. The difference in AFR's should have made the power of the car just completely die. With the alky though you get the extra cooling benefit and the boost in octane. This in turn keeps the timing up.
I was pretty amazed at this and it was proof to me that the tuning I have been doing on alky injection on the street was right on the money. Leave the AFR's rich, add timing and boost.
We did a few more pulls after this, we were able to raise the boost so it spiked to 25 psi (94 octane and alky) and settled down to 21.5. The power rose to 345 hp and 360 ft lbs of torque.
Al has a flash for our alky kits, the alky kit and flash have to be purchased through us. Kits are $499 for the progressive kit and the flash is $375 for whatever combination of parts or our Stages that you have and the alky flash.
As a side note, we ran the car with this same spike to 25 psi and settling to 21.5 psi WITHOUT the alky after we did the tuning just to see what happened and the great thing was, NOTHING happened. Al and I wanted to develop a flash that if something happened to the alky the engine would still live. The engine did live as the factory knock control took over and just retarded the hell out of the timing.

We really appeciate your thoughts on the AMS kit. Not really.

On that same note, having the alky hit all at once is a bad idea. This is a small engine and hitting it with a large hit of alky can sometimes cause the car to bog. This progressive controller lets you hit the car with a smaller shot of alky and builds as the boost builds, much smoother this way.
