Looking for the best universal muffler...

Very general question, but I'm looking to contact my local muffler shop and have a custom 3" stainless turboback put together for me. i figure that i can have that done a lot cheaper than going with the average system.

however, what's a nice quiet universal muffler, with 3" inlet and 3-4" outlet? any suggestions are appreciated.

thanks!

Seems like magnaflow is popular here

I second the Magnaflow. But if you also want something really nice looking, go for the Carbon Ti. I doubt the sound difference will be THAT different.

Have you thought about the WORKS Stealth?

It is application specific. But it's a better solution then welding mismatched Ebay muffler to your 30 thousand dollar + car.

2 cents,

I've went through a couple exhausts.....first the RMR, then the Greddy TI, and now going for the stealthier look with the magnaflow. I would definitely say magnaflow was the best way to go. Not too loud, deep and 3" all the way through....looks stocker than stock. =)

YOu can use the stock muffler (enlarge the opening for a 3" pipe section leading into it) and remove the flapper from the inside).

thanks for the responses...
i have thought about the works stealth. but i dont like the way the piping comes in at a strong angle. plus i want to retain all my stock parts.
oh, and blaze, my evo isn't a $30k+ car so i suppose it's okay to throw some ebay melon launcher on it ... that being said, there are some really competant places around here that can do custom piping for very reasonable prices, so i figure i can find some sort of magnaflow or something.
i'm also thinking about rnr. we'll see!

Best of both worlds is the "Warlock" muffler. Quiet as stock when the bypass is closed, wide open and loud as hell with it open.

Take a look!
