rally cars have a system that dumps raw fuel onto the glowing hot turbine wheel to keep it spooling. it works wonders, but as you can imagine it eats through turbos really quickly!

Here is a screen shot from the software. At www.aempower.com there are a few writeups on the feature but anti lag works on the two step rev limiter as well. AEM has to be controling boost for it to work properly. Basically for you to hold down the throttle and only let so much spool up. Other wise the EMS can release the pressure one the desired boost level is reached. I use Anti Lag on the two step rev limit for launches and it works very well. It can be used in the drag race or rally style as well.

sweet! I was searching for more info on antilag on AEM's forum, and some people were looking for the best anti-lag settings, what settings do you use? and what's the difference between Drag Race antilag and rally antilag?

Ermm, actually it ignites the fuel in the headers, not the actual turbo itself. This is like the 3rd thread on this today also...

Currently I use AntiLag basically only the 2step rev limit version. What it does is retard ign and pull fuel at 5k rpm while hold the throttle to the floor. The car then builds boost for a launch. I launch at about waste gate pressure but this is because I am not using the aem for boost contol. I use the blitz ebc. Other wise I could dial it in for any amout of boost from waste gate pressure up.

Drag race alows you to shift without lifting your foot of the throttle and building boost between shifts

Rally alows you to preset different amounts of lag and spool at certian rpms. Also different ign limits at different rpms.

These settings are going to determine on what the driver likes.

This is called launch control, not anti lag. It holds the engine at the ideal launch rpm.

True anti lag is a feature used in rally cars. It's when fuel is ignited in the headers as a way to keep the turbo fully spooled between shifts. So when you go from 2nd into 3rd, you don't have to wait for a few hundred rpm's till the turbo spools again.

So...does the AEM use a throttle position sensor to work? Do we even have those on our cars?

I drove a car with bang-bang anti-lag. Imagine being able to spin the wheels flooring it from idle on a turbo car. Felt like I was driving a car with 3 times the displacement.

I wish we had ETC. True antilag would be only a few hardware pieces and some progamming away. Would be a pretty nice auto-x feature if you didnt mind rebuilding the turbo often...

Autronic has the antilag system setup as well. The RMR Silver Evo has it and it is louder then hell. It does keep the turbo spooled nicely though

Yes the EVO is equipted with a TPS sensor that the AEM and or the stock ECU uses. Antilag will use TPS along with a clutch sensor if you are wanting to use a rally style antilag.
