Wink Turbo Upgrade Kit...

Hey guys I have an 03' Apex Silver Evo. I am looking at either the HKS GT2830, the A'PEXi, or the AMS upgrade kits. What do you guys think? I know that the Sparco Evo is running the A'PEXi kit, but I don't know the reliability of them. I have heard excellent things about AMS and their products, but I know that HKS has been around along time. Any thoughts, opinions, suggestions? Please help me out.

Thanks!

What about Turbo Trix. I heard good things about them.

Good luck on the quest.

You researched well. My consideration is AMS, HKS and A'pexi too.
Final decision will be between HKS and Apex'i I guess.
I have seen and used HKS Turbo kits and they are great. The j-spec companies spend so much
time in R&D because they have the financal background for it.
A'pex is great and just in between HKS's GT2835 and GT3037s.

Ah - one more thing. If the SS manifold will ever crack so there is a company doing a very
nice and affordable steel manifold for the HKS or A'pex flange. You won't have to worry after installing
one of these.

Go j-spec

just to defend out kit, we offer a warranty on all of our fabricated products. we have never once had a EVO VIII manifold come back. if you are considering power talk to AL over at dyno flash he had an HKS kit on his car and went and swapped our GT35R kit on it and made over 100hp more then the HKS kit. I can see people wanting products such as APEXi and HKS because they have been around for awhile but you paying for a name when you work off of companies like that. Much of the R&D done here in the sates rivals if not surpases that of older more established companies. When you are shopping for an EVO VIII turbo Kit make sure you weigh performance against quality. you wont find one person complaining about either on our kit.

I have heard of both HKS AND Apex'i turbo kits cracking manifolds...so...I'd stick with RnR or AMS

Thanks for the info guys. Thats the reason I asked about the HKS and A'PEXi kits. I know they have been around for a while but are they really worth it? My final decision, NO! I have decided to run he GT3071 kit from AMS. I know I won't regret it and the good things I've heard about them I know will never die. Thanks for everyones help!

AFter working with kits from BR, RNR, AMS, and ATP , I must say that hands down the AMS gt35R is by far the best performing, quicker spooling, top quality kit out there. NO reason to go with HKS or Apex-i unless the name is what attracts you.
