Incorrect...the high-flow filter allows MORE AIR into the intake tract than the ECU is expecting at a given RPM...to protect from a potentially damaging overboost condition, the ECU will cut fuel to save the engine. The stock ECU is a bit too conservative in that respect. The solution is to get a tune like a DynoFlash to remap the ECU and take out the fuel cut.

This is why I hate EvoM.... all the missinformation. Preach on master and god of all things automotive.... we will shut up and listen to your wisdom now.

Hey, don't hate on me for posting the truth. Fuel cut is intended to protect the engine from overboost, such as you would have if your wastegate malfunctioned and you had runaway boost...it is the ECU's last-ditch method of saving the engine. Unfortunately for those of us who like to mod our Evos, fuel cut pops up from time to time when you install a high-flow intake. Again, the only reliable way around fuel cut is a tune with an ECU reflash.

You should get a boost gauge so you know what you boosting at....
