Just tell RPS that they need to lower their prices so people can provide feedback...I wonder if that would go over well Seriously I wouldn't mind spending like 1700-2000$ for their clutch...but 2700$?

Yes, the Exedy's can be rebuild with new discs. The twin is $399.

the rps clutch sells very well, the exedy seems to not work as well as the RPS clutch currently.

I could not disagree more, but to each his own

It's a great clutch, no doubt, but as pointed out, it is WAY to expensive for what it is - does it work? Absolutely....very nice clutch. But I think I have a pretty good "pulse" on the Evo customer.......they have pretty much resigned themselves to the fact that the $1300-$1600 twins work, work very well in fact for what most people will realistically achieve power wise, and the extra $1000 on an RPS, even though it might be the baddest clutch on the block, is simply not justified.

We will be offering also the two version of the tilton clutch one that is in the mid to high 1000 dollar range and the other that is 4000 dollars.

There are some people that will want to get the higher end clutch because of all the replacement cost.

I have some customers that buy the cheaper 600 dollar clutch when I tell them the clutch wont last because of the power they are making but they still buy it, well after some of the customers buy the clutch install the clutch then burn the clutch up and have to get another clutch this costs a lot of money. Well if the evo customer would of bought the correct clutch in the first time it would be just one labor bill and one bill for a clutch not 2,3, even 4 clutches down the road will add up more then the RPS carbon or the tilton Carbon.

We try and sell the correct clutch for the power level the customer is making.

why hasn't the quarter master or tilton clutches been mentioned in this thread?

I've known several very knowledgable guys who state that the major problem with the evo clutches is that they are a pull-type as opposed to the push-type like the 1g and 2g dsm's. Could we get some feedback on that?

RRE has a useful chart on their site that compares a few clutches in terms of driveability, cost, torque capacity / rough hp estimates, and drivetrain severity if I'm recalling all the fields correctly. Perhaps it would be useful to have a similar chart for the available evo clutches? Ah, screw it, I'll just make a spreadsheet and attempt to post it up here.

If any of you vendors are reading this, would you pm me a price on a tilton hybrid shipped to 60440?

Sorry for the grave digging, but here are some examples of why I don't recommend clutches that are carbon-on-metal as opposed to true carbon-on-carbon. I have had a few clutches of this style come back for premature failure.

Replacement costs for this particular clutch (MK4 Supra) is ~$700 per carbon disc and ~$150 per intermediate plate (the metal ones).
