Remember they had three power steering pullies fail. You might want to re-think pulling it out.

Better yet, check out the RS to see how they route the belt.

Just a thought.

I talked to David from Vishnu about this and they believe that the failure occurred because it was the wrong belt (not OEM RS). I ordered the stock RS non AC belt which comes on JDM EVOS. I see no difference between none AC JDM EVO and USDM AC EVO. The AC must be as easy to take off as many owners do take there AC off after buying the car and Mitsu will not have different manufacture setup just for the AC hence they would not have the shorter belt for my car then . Plus I am not going to run my car in 24 hr race

I took the A/C off my other car for weight and now I'm wishing I had it back, especially in the summer. Only problem is that the parts deteriorate over time. I highly recommend that you put your A/C parts in water tight plastic bags and maybe put some dessicant in them. Some day you'll probably want to put it back in...

I don’t see why you wish to have it back but what do I know, I work from home and even if I have to drive because I might get a better job soon I will buy a beater car for everyday. EVO is not daily driver for sure and I have used the AC once in the past 2 years so I am sure I wont miss it.

OT: Their are other means to accomplish this task without having an "internal oil leak" within the motor.

No A/C here and everything is fine. My Car dyno's at 550 HP at 29psi. As for the plugs I atped them and then had them shrink wrapped to be sealed. My check engine lights are not coming on and I dont hink they will. Keep in mind though that I have an EMS.

great thread. I was thinking about pulling mine off when i had my bumper off and turbo off for other things. I just didnt' have the belt. When I get my beater car I'll be doing this. It is much cleaner looking in there.
Az3ar, where did you get your new accesories belt from? and can you somehow show pics of how you routed the belt?

a buddy of mine is having that problem with his 1g, no b/s, and is getting too much oil pressure. he's replaced the front cover gasket too many times and can't get it to seal under all that pressure. have you found a way to control oil press without being ghetto fabulous?

What ways were you talking about? Really i dont see how it would be a oil leak in the engine since it would just be coming out of the gullies which is right above and to the left of the crank so it would just drain straight down agian. But i would love to hear your recomendation.

Thanx
Chris
