34C is nothing. Try living in KSA 50C and I had no AC. I used to take my shirt off (well I was very dark when I lived there)

To each his own, but I think it's pretty crazy to purchase an expensive, comfortable, fun to drive, nice car and make it impractical or unuseable for most of the year, and then to buy some old POS beater to drive every day

I bought a "beater" to drive while my busted solutions modded car was getting sorted out. I still have it and I drive it in nice weather. It's a roadster and most fun to drive in sunny weather. But still, it has A/C and trust me, in the summer it's much more comfortable to put the top up and run the A/C than to stew and burn-up while commuting

Hey Az3ar. Great write up. I think its kool to see people go outside the norm of things. Personally I'm like most and will keep mine, but to each their own. What I don't understand, is why in the world would you ditch the ac before going with a mini battery and cutting weight there?

My 2 cents. I use my a/c all the time, even when it's not hot, or in the winter. It's particularly useful when it's foggy, rainy, or snowing. Have you ever seen a car in winter with fogged-up windows? Turning on the a/c will dissipate the interior condensation.

Good for you, have you thought about buying a Lexus? it's roomy and very nice handsome car.

50 degree C is 122 degree F........ That's mighty hot ... I don't know if I could actually survive for very long in temps like that........ For sure I would use A/C or at least a lot of fans and lots of water (to drink and splash on me)....

Yeah, absolutely, I thought about a Lexus! But none came with all wheel drive, Recaros, telepathic steering, Brembos, sports car handling, Momo steering wheel, purposeful good looks, sodium filled valves, AND air conditioning. thumbup:

You are right. I do the same thing. The A/C helps to keep the condensation from fogging up the windows when they are all rolled up. The A/C is very important to me. I don't think that a few thousands of a second in the 1/4 mile or a mile per hour or two higher top speed is worth it to remove the A/C.
True, I generally do not run the A/C in the 1/4 mile runs, but I generally run it most of the time. Even when the weather is beautiful and the temps are perfect, driving the car with the windows down can get old pretty fast... Once the windows are rolled up, it's practically mandatory to run the A/C particularly in humid climates.
AFAIC, there is no need to suffer in order to enjoy the high performance cars

It was good days. I used to have a yellow Jeep wrangler (beauty) 1991 with 6 inline 4.0 liter that sux gas (but gas there is cheaper than water ). I did not put the top on so i used to be very very dark we can say almost black . I could not touch the metal part of the seat belt in the day time so no seatbelt for me.

the sun would be so hot that you can feel the heat wave moving things and cars just get so hot that you will be dumb to touch the body.

Good days
