Got BEASTED by an M5 TOP END

****This is not about Street Racing*****

Ok So I was coming home from work yesterday when I had my first real "run-in" with a M5 on the highway. Not racing or anything just playing around with the guy. He ABSOLUTLY slapped me top end. From like 70 and above that car pulls man. What can I do to motivate my car in the top end range? I already am runnning 310 WHP - no cams though. Are cams going to make that much of a difference? I doubt it. What do you guys think? I have an ego to maintain! LoL

By the way...turns...Evo got an M5 hands down...caught him real quick

Was this a 2005 m5? Don't forget they come with over 500hp stock! Those power sedans have got major ***** on the high end. In fact, the E55 was the fastest highway accelerating car R&T tested last year... that includes Ferrari, Porsche, etc...

EVOs are very quick from a stop if well driven. If going from a roll, the higher the speed, the more disadvantaged you'll be to a 400-500hp car like a late model - present M5.

272s will def help your top end alot! I saw a video of Srt-4 vs. EVO and the the SRT-4 pulled a bit once they reached a higher speed. The EVO got 272 cams and tuned them, he then beat the SRT-4 by a good 3-4 cars, if not more.

HAAHAH. The 272's will help, but you will NOT overtake the M5 unless you have alot of **** on your evo. Trust me my friend has one with a Dinan package and it is NO JOKE....

Turbo Upgrade

or

Run Race Fuel (or make your own fuel - Toulene)

Contact Vishnu:
With the V90 plus the 10.5cm hotside you will be able to run low 12s on 93oct and dramatically improve top end. The best part is you won't sacrifice reliability to attain improved performance.

run a 20g with the correct supporting mods, an alcohol injection kit and you will lay waste to that bavarian heap!

Don't feel bad.
I bet the M5 had Mods. My friends M5 ran a 13.6 at E-Town.

FWIW, Motor Trend got a 13.2 out of a bone stock 2000 M5. But going from a roll, the EVO's awd advantage is for naught. A 400hp BMW will be no slouch on the HWY, and such territory is not the forte of the EVO.
