M5 will roll out top end....more cylinders=better top end pull. (at least in my experience) Once you're moving wieght becomes less of an issue.

272s and NOS DUDE!

or bigger turbo...i believe that you need more hp then them to take them on the topend. 2wd vs 4wd.

you're forgetting the final drive differences between the 6sp and 5sp.

Yeah, and the Audi A3 isn't available either, but I passed one on a street in the Valley about 2 months ago. Dude worked for Volkswagon (I talked to him).

forget that the 06 M6 has a seventh gear motor;90 degree V-10 alluminim block/heads DOHC, 4 valves/cyl. HP;500 @7750rpms. and 384@6100Rpms;Torque priced at 90,000 cash. 0-60 in 4.4sec. holly mother of mary! imagine how high top speed can b with a seventh gea, are u imagining? u should!!!

btw next time u see him high beam him from behind pull up on him " dat is if he doesnt speed up" and tell him to meet u at the track, and tell him to bring his bus pass and his lunchbox, cuz ur going to take him to school. Evo is not a highway car just great rally based car. the best handling on a vehicle by far i believe ask him to play "catch up" on a circuit track see how he does.

"Evolving to the final stage" have u seen the Evolution X?

it's hard to play both games wtih any car... that's why there's a variety of cars that are purpose built to do waht they do best...try to do too many things and you lose focus of your car.

tru tho it's not hard/impossible to beat a stock m5 or something like that, think about what a blown vette would do to an m5 .

anyway the m5 is a boat... well engineered and all but it's a boat... what do boats do best? float around on the freeway really fast... it's a good highspeed track car too... but there are better...

just face it... you have a built to the nUts 2.0 liter motor... yes, turbo, blah blah blah... your tranny is setup for.... autobahn? no. 1320? yes. when japanese engineers made the Evo, they did not have "doing 200mph across the yokohama bay" on thier minds.understandibly, the M5 beemers are made for crusing. in autocross, you'd prolly spank the schnitzle eatin' heinaken guzzelin' euro. us Evo people have better accelleration, better handeling and AWD on our side. by the time and money it takes you to make your evo as fast as an M5 in the top end... you could have gotten an M5... not that id take an M5 over an evo... well, maybe. depends on my marital status at that time.... lol! jk

I Ran Against An M5 During The Summer On The Southern State Parkway And Yeah The Car Is Fast But It Couldn't Hang With The Swerving In And Out Of Traffic At Less Then Legal Speed . Dude You Got To Realize That Anybody Can Go Straight Fast. But The Best Races Aren’t Always In A Straight Line.

You are correct; anyone can go fast in a straight line. It takes talent and practice to move a car quickly around a road course or in a good canyon. It takes no skill at all to be overly aggressive and dangerous in traffic!

I smoked a Ferrari in a school zone last week. I guess the guy didn't have the ***** to keep up.

Grow up

Well! It does take some skills to go fast in straight line... but at the drag not on the street. :-)
