why is BOV bad?

i heard that a BOV is bad for a stock car and make it stall.. im thinking of getting a gredy-s BOV for my MR, but one of my friends told me that the car will stall, and its better off keeping the stock BOV. he said that ill need a AEM EMS standalone so that it wouldnt stall. i dont really wanna be spending that much (about 1500+ including the EMS)... what do u guys think about this?

Why do you want an aftermarket BOV? Lemme guess...the sound? get a turbo-back and an intake first...then see what you think of the sound

well if you do get the type s I would recirc it and then work on adjusting to spring to make it happy.. But the stock will always be better unlelss it fails you. I know you want the bov for the sound, so you could get an intake or a cone filter and you will get the sound your looking for.

Rice = no performance function, BoV = no performance function

So you're saying that an intake will produce make the stock BOV produce the sound too?

If you get rid of the stock airbox you will be able to hear the BOV. It's not the same as the type S but you can hear it.
Unless you are running more than the stock boost level don't waste you money on a BOV.
If you are I recomend a 1g slightly crushed.

Yes an open element intake would let more of the sound inside the intake stream out.

If you are looking for the best of both worlds Your best bet is probably the APS Blow off valve. It is dual stage so it recirculates and vents to the atmosphere. It is adjustable so you can let more out or keep more in.
