Removal of Restrictor Pill..4th grinds??

I read somewhere about 4th gear problems when the restrictor pill is removed....Having just heard this...what can i do to fix this??

you should leave the rest. in.. change your trans fluid to bg fluid.. if it still grinds you need a clutch or your synchros are bad

Seems like it might be aggrivating a problem that is allready there.....beware of the 03 Evo as they have dr jekel and mr hyde transmission lol

Gear grind has no relation to the restrictor.

That may be true...but on another thread i read someone doign the same thing and having problems with there gears aswell.....I can't seem to find the thread right now tho

The clutch slips more with the restrictor in place as lockup is delayed. This slipage might allow the trans shafts to better match rotations. Whatever the reason, there is no fix other than replacing your syncros if they are a problem. Some people like to treat the symptom or improve performance by using other than the factory trans oil. There are some excellent threads on this subject.
