05' Goes in for diff probs again...
I bought my car from San Rafael Mistubishi. Ask for Chris. I can't remember the last time I still considered the sales rep a friend AFTER the sale of the car. They kick all sorts of a$$ over there.
So while the car was in for warranty work to put the correct fluid into the diff and get an oil change, the car was broken into and the shift know was stolen, a MR on the lot had the ebrake stolen as well, there was no damage to the car other than the knob being stolen i guess pro's looking for parts.
This seems to happen alot on these cars, whats up with that, I mean is a shift knob and ebrake that valuble?
That on top of this news of mitsu trying to sell its US infrasturcture are very disconcerning

If Mitsu clears from the US, what becomes of the 10/100 warranty? Again, I can see why they promise the huge warranty, cause they wont be around to fullfill it.
Time to trade in this dog and pony show for a 05' ACR SRT-4

Got the car back with the correct diff fluid and friction modifier, car's rear end binds up worse then it did before we brought it in, Do they even check the car out before they give it back to you?
When you turn a hard corner the rear wheel actually stops and drags, makes nice popping noises too...
Ugh...

I'm sorry to hear all this drama Phil. It shouldn't be the owners problem to tell the dealership how to do the work. It also shouldn't be yourt responsibility to make sure it's been fixed after you pick it up. You may wanna contact a lawyer if they don't lemon law it after you bring it in the next time.

Phone call Monday morning.... car was broken into. Window smashed, both seats stolen, SHIFT KNOB and battery. I was ****ing pissed. Anyway, problem turned out to be the REAR DIFFERENTIAL. They ordered me a new one, installed it, bang, problem was gone. Im at 2500 miles now and no problems since that ordeal.
However, my car was at the dealer for a total of 28 days! Believe that. Good news is, the car is fixed, Im driving it, Im happy AND Mitsu is crediting me my car payment for the month of January!
Anyway, I feel your pain! Hang in there, it will be over soon.
Tom
PS - who the hell wants a stock shift knob. They are trash! I just got my Greddy and I threw the stock one out!
Thanks for the support guys, It looks like we will either look into the lemon law or just trade the car in at this point, it has gotten to the point where the car is just not reliable anymore, it drags the rear tires aroud every corner, you have to give it alot of gas and slip the clutch to get it moving, so i would assume the clutch is taking a beating.
At this point the car is no longer that fun car to drive, Its more frustration that fun, and its still new...
A freind suggested a Regular Evo 8, becuase they dont have the diffs that the RS and MR do, Alot less probelms with those in general
At this point we are actively looking to get out of a mitsu car altogether, the milk has been soured so to speak.
Anyone want to buy a hardly used RS?
