sell hks catback?

Been debating or not whether to sell my HKS hi-power and get another catback. I like the sound but its too quiet for me. I want something that sounds like the greddy one or something as loud but not raspy.

I love the sound dont get me wrong, but its just kind of quiet. I still have the factory downpipe, dont know if it will get louder once i change the downpipe.

Well, my hks dp didnt make my car any louder than stock. I like the hks hi power too, great sound and performance. You sure you want a louder exhaust? You going to risk gettin pulled over a lot.

Well i guess you are right. I probably end up keeping it any how. By the way how is the car? Is it still howling? To me that sound, i think it might be from the pressure plate. I had a mechanic tell me that if my clutch is going bad, it might make a sound like that. I have 15k on my stock clutch so it may be going bad.

I have an Espelir cat-back, and i love it. Since everyone gets HKS, Greddy, Apex'i, etc., I wanted to be a bit different. Piping is the largest i've seen at 80mm. 76mm=3", so its a tiny bit bigger. It's not like this makes a difference really but i guess it's a plus. It sounds really mellow, and i get compliments on it all the time. I also have a Helix dp and an UR cat delete, so now it sounds better than it did with just the catback because its deeper/louder. Sounds very close to my friend's JIC. its on vividracing.com for like 500 bucks too. Excellent fit and finish! just my 2 cents. Here's a thread about it. Espelir Exhaust

Yea I noticed something new today. I was stuck on the highway in 1st gear and I heard my car howling when I was releasing the clutch slowly. It was a quiet howl, though. I was able to hear this new noise in 1st because I sent out my headunit for warrant work, so my car was my music :P

I think both of our problems have to do with the clutch, because it only does it when downshifting and everytime it howls i feel the vibration on the pedal. I put my car up to see if it was the front diff but its fine and its not the TC either so that's out of the way. My clutch is wearing out already so this could be the cause, how is your clutch?

Do you have the factory cat still? That'll open up some more sound/power.

Most of your sound if regulated by the type of muffler you have and how many resonators.

Get a DP first and see how that'll sound. I got the RnR 3" TBE with HKS Carbon/Ti and it sounds just plain mean! (no cat)
