Act Clutch but says exedy?
We use quite a few Exedy components, just as many other companies. In this case, what you are seeing is an Exedy part with our linings on it and a slight modification to the amount of cushioning built between the linings. We also start off with an Exedy pressure plate. We grind off the Exedy (Daikin) logo so there is less confusion in regards to warranty, liability, SFI cert. etc. We use a stronger diaphragm and proprietary modifications to increase clamp load and improve shifting. To tool up for stamping covers is a $200K investment so it makes no sense to do that, especially since Exedy has a patent on the pull type bearing design used on the EVO. It makes far more sense to just start off with the Exedy parts. It's also the "don't throw the baby out with the bath water" reasoning. It's a good design. We just make improvements for more performance that are normally not necessary for the stock car.
