David, I'm looking at a GT3076R turbo with the following specs:
Compressor side
76.2 mm wheel
56 trim
0.70 A/R
Turbine side
60 mm wheel
84 trim
0.63 A/R
Your thoughts? Areas for improvement?

Not to be a butthole but my thoughts are if we aren't selling it to you then go with your gut feelings on what you need. Printing what we use on a public forum is a good way to cut our own throat.

David, I truly appreciate where you are coming from and did not intend on asking for free information. My intention was to get as close to the "best" setup and then send the turbo to you for your final "magic". As I said in an earlier post, I have a number of your BR parts on my car now and have been more than happy with each one.
Unfortunatly, I did not buy the GT35R turbo kit from you. Partly due to the mistaken fact that I did not know you sold BB turbo's and partly due the fact that I fell in love with someone else's header. I realize now that is not the case.
I can not correct what I have done, but I was hoping to minimize the pain. Please email me at your convenience so that we may discuss a path forward to optimize whichever turbo that I get.

Whoosh thanks for not getting pissed off at my response.
The turbo you described above will work out fine on the EVO.

I've gotten a ride in two Evos with the AMS GT35R kit, here's my $.02:
Evo #1 - jerastan's former Evo - AMS GT35R kit, 2.0l, on pump gas, got to ride along for the street tuning session with Martin. Even at an 80% tune it was already pulling noticeable harder than my Evo (still on stock turbo) and that's with 4 people in the car. Laggy? Yeah little bit, but once the power rolls on you tend to forget about the lag.
Evo #2 - AMS Evo - AMS GT35R kit, 2.0l, race gas (~680whp tune at the time), got a ride in AMS shop beast and had the **** scared out of me. I have never been in anything that accelerates that hard. If you want ultimate power in your Evo, there is no substitute. Yeah, lag sucks, since it didn't fully hit until 4000rpms, but when it did ... OMFG!!!
Personally I think a GT35R on a built 2.0l (9k redline) would be a monster, but if you're gonna run a pump gas tune, then a 30 series turbo is probably a better option.

IMO, I would not go GT35R unless it was strickly a track car. I drove it, and when it is off boost (below ~4500 rpm) it feels like a stock EVO, or more like my WRX.

????Not a good combo. The .63 ar on the 3037 is the only way to go. Both Martin and Shiv have experience with the 3037 with the big AR and say it spools considerably later but only makes around 15 more hp than the .63 AR.
IE Evo went with the 3037 with the .63 AR and made 494whp on a AWD Dynojet. He has stock bottom end, stock head, stock intake mani, stock airbox. If 494whp isn't enough for you, get the 35r.
