Cool for those using LAUNCH CONTROL

please fill me in. I have heard that launch control is fun for the first few times, then the novely wears off. is this true? i understand taking all of the drivetrain components to the very edge, at high rpm and letting the clutch go....puckering your sphincter.. and hoping you dont hear a loud boom. has anyone blown-up their goods yet? can this be done "safer" with a triple carbon clutch and strengthened T.C. along with an engine damper? or is it dumb to do in the first place? Ive got to try it a couple times, but i dont want to "pay" for it to go awry. how many times have you used it, and any regrets? If you DONT reccommend I do it with my car, can I use your car for a couple hours?

When I first got my AEM I had my tuner set up my 2-step. I think I used it all of 4 times and had him turn it back off. I didn't break anything and you shouldn't it you use it correctly. I guess I am just more used to doing it without launch control so I prefer it like that. I dunno...maybe I'll turn it back on after I get my TRE Tranny and new clutch and fiddle with it. Who knows......

VISHNU does, it is embedded in the xede v3. it is only turned on with the clutch to the floor, and the gas pedal to the floor. the revs stop at 5800-6000 even with the gas to the floor. all hell breaks loose( I hope its only hell) when you release the clutch.

Some people swear by it, I guess it all depends on what you think "feels" better. And as long as you use it correctly, you shouldn't blow anything up that you wouldn't have blown up anyway.

Well, most stand-alone ECU's have one built-in, and some piggybacks do too. Then there are companies that make just a 2-step like MSD, T-Sport, and FlatShift, etc.

you can upload any .jpg you want as your avatar. you must have an application that can reduce size to 75x75 pixels though.

go to your user control panel. under settings & options go to 'edit avatar'. scroll down and there should be an option for 'upload from your computer'.

I've fiddled with the launch control a bit and didn't get good results. My car would wheel hop bad and couldn't get a smooth launch, basically it wasn't consistent as I thought it would be. I don't feel that you need the boost off the line if you rev it at the sweet spot and launch. Who knows maybe with some more testing it will work out good.

Talking

Thanks for the input, this is what i thought it would be like. i kind of like the gradual (but quick) acceleration, as opposed to swallowing your tongue with a hard launch.
