its not really hard...i replaced it on my dads toyota corolla...and i believe they are at similar location with our engines...sum1 correct me if im wrong

 

I haven't done it yet but it looks tight. Taking it out might be the PITA

 

You too huh? Mine went out last week. Looks tuff to get get to from up top becaust it's behind the motor towards the firewall. But I believe it would be easier to get to from underneath. Be prepared to pay $300+ for an OEM alternator.

 

Hey stvbreal, any tell tale signs your alternator is about to go? I've got a weird *** sound on occassion coming from the back side of the engine, passenger side, and when I am idling with the a/c on (when the compressor kicks in) I get some not so great rumbling sounds from the engine as well. =/

Does the evo7 use the same alternator as the 8?
