Clutch pedal floored!

Ok here is the story i was at a stop light and i had my clutch pedal pressed down and the car in neutral, when i tried to put the car in gear it felt like it was getting stuck wouldnt go into gear i tried first, then third then second, then got it into first, but the clutch pedal was stuck to the floor, but even though the clutch pedal wouldnt come back up it was engaging cuz i could get the car to move. so i drove it in first and when i pushed the clutch back to the floor and tried to shift out of first it was started to grind so i left it in first and pulled over into a parking lot. the clutch pedal was still on the floor so i pulled it up with my foot and it came off the floor and i pressed it a couple of times and it wasnt sticking anymore but it felt "stickier" like pushing into mud or like the pivot joint was sticky. but as i was only a mile from home i drove it home cuz it was shifting i just drove slow. did i blow the clutch? or could this be some other problem? thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Sounds like a hydraulic leak or air in the hydraulic system.

possibly why did you ask that specific question?

The master cylinder resevoir is very deceiving and it may be low on fluid.

just thinkin of things that could be wrong, i know bad break hoses can produce a spongy feel so just asking if clutch lines going could have the same effect. i seroiusly dont know what is wrong with it

It could be a problem with the release bearing coming detached from the pressure plate. Have you had a clutch change recently where they possibly didn't install it correctly? It could also be a problem with hydraulics. It could also be a blown up disc, where the disc center came apart and parts are lodged in the pressure plate preventing it from actuating properly. I don't think this would happen on the stock disc, but maybe on some of the inferior aftermarket discs. You would probably feel or hear something wrong though if that were the case.

what about heat?
where the clutch and pressure plate are lodged together....
then the weakest part of the two would be the lock(the center ring) and this would break off.....
when that happens...i had the same problem u did

My vote is for hydraulics. Check the Slave/Master and all lines. Make sure the system is properly bled.

hahaha, we are repair an evo with similar problems. we got it in on a roll back because the pedal was stuck to the floor and the car wouldnt move. we found two problems. 1) the idiot didnt check his brake fluid (the brake and clutch system share the same resevoir) and let it get low to the point that the master cylinder coundnt get any fluid (brakes worn out). 2) after we fill it up and bled the system we noticed he killed third gear. so we updated the trans and fixed the gears and now the car is fine. so check your fluid.

its not the fluids i checked those, and i brought it to the dealer and they checked them too and they say everything is ok, cuz they cant replicate the problem and the car shifts fine which i already knew cuz i drove it home, and other than the pedal feeling stiffer it seems to be fine now, but hell if i know

It could be your master/slave cylinder (like aomeone else said). Clutch pedal went to the floor in my car (not Evo) and I had to stick my foot underneath the pedal to pick it back up. The slave/master cylinder totally went about a month later.

i figured that but the dealership wont do anything until they can replicate the problem, which does me no good, i might just buy and install a new clutch. either act street disk or exedy twin so i can get the whole assembly apart.
