I pulled the whole assembly out from the firewall to replace mine
behind the shock tower is the clutch master, the slave is bolted to the trans... but i guess it has to do with age/ miles. I don't know but i figured if it is an inferior part there should be an aftermarket up grade??

haha sorry, i meant master. My master went bad, not my slave. Not sure why, i pushed in the clutch one day and it stuck to the floor. Took my motor out to get built and there was some orange corrosion on the clutch line.. replaced the master and it fixed it

I'm dealing with this exact problem as we speak... if it is infact the slave that failed the dealer should warranty it because i have a 100k mile powertrain warranty, correct?

its the OEM clutch and failed under normal freeway driving conditions with ZERO indication that it was on its way out.

well, got a call from the mechanic and it appears that the throwout bearing went bad and that's what caused the clutch to go. but they had a TB in house and tried to replace it but he said that the fingers on the clutch were bent and would not allow the TB to go on and so he's going to have to get a new clutch. Upwards of $2k. FFFFUUUUUUUUU!!!

Its all up to the dealership. They SHOULD cover it, but who knows if they will. Do you have any mods?
