Car failed emmissions

Just so everyone knows my old EVO VIII just failed emmissions in Virginia. I traded the EVO in for a Honda Accord Hybrid last week and the mechanic there called and asked me if I still had the stock exhaust. I told him yes and he said he is going to come by my house tonight and get it from me and give me back the full 3" buschur turbo back exhaust, which I will be selling once I get it back.

I traded the evo in fully modded with everything in my signature. Guess the aftermarket cats work a little too well in letting everything out of the car.

That is the reason why I am sticking with the stock cat. Or if I do go hiflow, make sure it is EPA and OBD2 compliant. Your dyno readings are awfully low for your mods, eh? You should definitely break 300whp, especially since you have cams.

It was probably your cams that caused it to fail.

Yeah, but if he had a proper cat, it wouldn't have mattered.

Not my problem anymore. The dealership is putting the stock exhaust back on tomorrow, so hopefully that helps it pass. If not, i'm not sure what they will end up doing.

Actually pretty good numbers consider the car was running stock boost and stock gear settings.

You took it to the dealer for emissions? That's why it failed.

I took it to the dealer because I traded it in. It's no longer my car. I now have a nice earth friendly, ****ty handling, but quick honda accord hybrid now.

Who cares..... I am really happy you went over to Honda. People like you don't deserve to drive or even have the privilage to drive an EVO.

Then again, if you are correct, I had high hopes in getting 264/264 cams. I guess my hopes would be shattered and will have to seriously limit my power!!

Actually loved the car, but if you had to go through what I was going through you would understand my decision. I just had a clutch put in the car a few weeks ago and ever since then, it was costing me 1000's of dollars! Noticed right after the clutch install there was weird noises, the transfer case ended up going bad, had that replaced for 3000 bucks and the car wasn't shifting right, was going to cost me even more money, so that is when i decided it was no longer worth it. I wasn't going to spend another penny for someone elses mistake. That shop screwed my car up and didn't want to accept responsibility.

This my friend is why the car is gone. I got full trade in value for the car and I took that as a blessing. Please go some place else if you want to make judgements on people before you know the full story. Oh and by the way the hybrid is a drivers car too, just different. It has more technology than almost any other car on the road has, just has crappy handling and is no longer a 300+hp awd beast. Live and learn. I'm now 30 years old and this was a wise decision for me. Take it at that.
